Friendly staff
The counselors and staff all have a very warm and welcoming demeanor, they really seem to love and "get" kids. I loved how each classroom's counselors decorated their doors differently. Mr Justin is fantastic. Joelle is fantastic. The themes are fantastic. They do a great job top to bottom to make sure every kid is safe, cared for, and having a good time. Dropoff is a breeze. The only thing I would like to see is more outside time.

My 10 year old daughter loves the Explorers Camp. She talks about it daily. She loves going on field trips twice a week. She loves the crafts and other activities they do on the other days. She feels like her swimming ability has gotten better as well.
My son loved this camp and the counselors were very inspiring to the kids. I loved the positivity poured into them as they sharpen their skills.
The new space feels great! The curriculum is more organized, there’s more space to navigate big groups of kids and bathrooms! Really enjoyed the y this year. Shout out to classroom 15 and 2 stafff! And of course, the kind front desk staff and Rob/Joelle duo!!!
Love the availability of extended hours, enthusiasm of staff. This year our daughter tried a few different camps after doing new discoveries all summer the past two summers. Turns out her 2 weeks at new discoveries were her favorite!!!
Kept the kids active, swimming lessons was a huge bonus, fun counselors
My daughter LOVED this camp! There was so much to do, the counselors were super friendly and made a nervous parent feel at ease. Thank you for keeping her safe and helping her learn. We will definitely be back next year!
My kids have had a fantastic time so far at New Discoveries. They love the activities and all of the camp counselors.
They are well-staffed so it feels like there are a good amount of counselors that are really there to greet campers and interact with them thoughtfully throughout the day. The activities for every week and theme seem well thought out and everyone is very friendly and enhusiastic.
This was my son’s first year at Explorers and the experience has been amazing! He’s so excited for camp each day and can’t wait to tell us all about the trips when he gets home. We were nervous about the transition to being with older campers but the staff have created an environment where the kids can engage freely and foster new friendships. Our son is already excited and looking forward to next summer!
This was our first camp experience and we've been very happy with how organized it has been from drop off to pick up and all the communication in between. My son comes home happy every day and can't wait to tell us about the new things he learned or he did. And we're more than thrilled that his swimming has finally gotten to the point where he's getting comfortable in the water without a life jacket. , which is exactly what we wanted this summer.
My 3 almost 4 year old is so so happy going in every day. Staff is so friendly and nice, great vibes and communication! I was nervous but it has just been such a pleasure to see him thriving!
My daughter had a great time in the week that she spent in camp. She has asked me to find an additional week during the summer that she can participate in the camp again.
The staff is very friendly and it is a nice, safe environment for the kids to have fun outside and inside.
The field trips 2x a week give the kids plenty of interesting experiences and the swim classes 3x a week help them get more water safe & have fun.
I like the mix of field trips and "home" days with swimming.
Staff friendliness and care towards all, communication is great, variety of activities, swim lessons.
My granddaughter comes from having a feel day she starts bragging about the trip.
My daughter always camr back home happy and she already mentioned that she want to repeat the explorers camp next year.

Range of fun and engaging activities
This camp is incredible. The staff is 10+!!! Everyone greets parents and kids with music playing and ‘hellos’ to every single person at top of day. Yasmin is such an incredible part of what made this camp shine, YMCA is lucky to have her. Shoutout to all the counselors that consistently met my child with warmth, joy, and care.
My daughter loves New Discoveries camp! She is excited to go to camp in the morning and comes home happy from camp each day! She really enjoys the variety of activities that are provided throughout the week, especially swimming and sports/splash. I also really appreciate that all the camp counselors are fun and energetic. She has really formed a bond with many other campers and counselors.
My only minor feedback is that I would appreciate the Friday event emails to be sent along a little earlier in the day to prepare for early morning drop off. Also, if there was an email with directions on drop off procedure/location for morning care before camp started for the season, that would have been appreciated, although it was not a big deal!
My daughter is already looking forward to returning again next year!
The teachers are involved, interactive, and compassionate! The curriculum is not only educationally and engaging BUT also fun! My daughter comes home with the BIGGEST, BRIGHTEST, most BEAUTIFUL smile daily! She looks forward to going to camp!
This is our second year in this camp and our son loves it so much! Every week is a new theme that makes him so excited!
This camp is the best. Our daughter loves attending and participating in all the summer activities and events. We love the staff and all of their support. This has been an amazing experience for our child.
Counselors were great, engaging, friendly and helpful! Ms Paige, Ms Sarah etc made a wonderful difference. Activities were also cool, with swimming, water sports etc. Thank you!!
