Member Testimonials
Affordable, variety, offered many different time throughout the day.
Variety, something for everyone.
There’s something for everyone! That includes the “old me” and the new, post cancer, aging me. I also love the social aspect of before and after class chatting. The wonderful staff is a huge part of the positive experience, and the facilities are well maintained. The E-gym is a real plus.
Pool lap swimming with lanes marked for ability level , towel service, swimsuit water extractor in locker room, nice lifeguards
I like the pool
Excellent facility, kept clean with great staff
the variety is excellent, geared to all ages and capabilities
Classes and instructors that fit my Senior needs, equipment such as yoga mats and knee pads, and the Stretch Room.
My challenge is seeing the yoga poses in the Studio, which involves awkward cranking of one's neck. But the larger challenge is hearing the instructors who tend to use soft voices. I believe the instructors use clipped wireless microphones at El Camino Y, which helps with my hearing loss (I do use hearing aids).
E gym
Excellent treadmills and love the new landscaping and the white lights. It’s a very comfortable, welcoming environment. Tavi is very friendly and engaging.
I love the Ymca I've been a member since 1987. What I don't like is that the aqua classes during the summer get canceled for lifeguard classes or kids classes. The seniors at the YMCA get overlooked in order to make more money with swimming lessons etc. We pay our dues every month which isn't an inexpensive but I'm down from three aqua classes to one at my class time. So I'm paying and I only get the benefit of four classes a month versus 12 yet my dues are the same. This isn't just Southwest this happens at the other Y's as well and it isn't fair no matter what so every summer I get really irritated at my membership and so does every other person in my class. We talk about it and complain about it and realize that we get slider every year. I wish you could fix this do it on non-Aqua days because our money and time is as important as anybody else
