Senior Fitness classes
I love the new class that Southwest offers: Lift and HIIT taught by Rachel. It's very unique. It's not like a cycle sculpt class where you stay on the bike and lift small hand weights, you get off the bike and lift much heavier weights with less reps. It's innovative.
Convenient and consistent lessons - kids actually learn how to swim
E-gym. Friendly staff. --Tanya and Tavio

Can select a time when Y is not that crowded.
Convenient location --- 5 minutes away from my house.
My son loves the swimming lessons because the instructor always they are nice, lesson start on time and the place always are organized.
Reasonable hours, wide assortment of exercise mach1nes to use.
I like the variety , and number of classes available. And, the instructors are really good. However some of the classes are so popular they have become crowded. Perhaps these classes need tickets that limit class size. Also offering the crowded classes more often in the week or in the same day, or both. Thank you for making Southwest YMCA, a great place to exercise and stay healthy. Love the staff too, they are welcoming, helpful and friendly.
I swim on Sunday mornings, and then follow with Pop Pilates. Very good combination. Autumn is especially fun to exercise with. Her enthusiasm is infectious.
Your facility and people are the very best! Thank you for being there and for always being so helpful to me. I am a senior and love the swim exercise class. I have mobility issues and I cannot thank your employees enough for their friendliness carrying and consideration in helping me. I am learning about other classes that will help me and soon will be visiting more frequently. Thank you for having such a wonderful facility and employees!
We love the staff and instructors.

Swim lessons
The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The equipment is in good shape or promptly repaired as needed. My only other comments are: 1) It drives me nuts when people sit on the machines and stare at their phones and watch videos. I can do 5 machines while watching someone (typically teenagers) sit and watch tick tock videos and do a few reps. Can you a) put a notice on each machine NOT to sit on them while looking at your phone (similar to the one set if people are waiting) and b) maybe put some chairs for people to sit on if they want to take a break? 2) As hot as it's been getting during the day, the outside machines are difficult to use. Is there another location on campus where they can be relocated to? Thanks! Name removed
E-gym!!!
I like that there are clubs that aren't just exercise. Exercise is nice, but it's easier to actually meet other people in the craft, cooking, or book clubs.
Biggest plus is the E-Gym, and ability to use the E-Gym bracelet to log in to cardio machines.
Also: Friendly staff, nice clean facility, little helpful touches like the keypad lockers
Cardio equipment and facility.
Egym , Yoga with Ellen, Strength Building class, seeing other active people
I enjoy the evening classes when I can’t make my usual morning routine. I would like to give a shout-out to the front desk staff, it is nice to see a smile and greeting before class.
Love water exercise class. So fun!
I really just use the Y for occasional cardio exercises (stationary bike, treadmill) and stretching/yoga exercises on my own.
My kids enjoyed the swim classes.
If I had more time, I would likely join a yoga or other stretch & strengthening class.
Childcare, kid classes, group exercise. Friendly staff. Automated weight machines.

Friendly and patient instructors. Small class size.
All the instructors are very good
YMCA is a great place to join. The staff are super nice and the facilities are clean. I love it!
I love the instructor Teresa. She is so good with the kids.
I enjoy Southwest! I enjoy water aerobics, the Egym, and my latest, the elliptical. I also enjoy Senior fitness, btw, some of us would like this class to change it's name...yes, we are seniors and yet it certainly is a worthy class of movement. Maybe, something like: Mature body fitness?!
I worked in Special Education for many years. No one wanted to be considered "special" --- maybe it's the same way with seniors (except when we get a senior discount)!
One day I was at the Y and someone came into the gym saying there would be a pickle ball class happening soon. I am so happy I had joined in on this spontaneous class. It was cool that it just happened!
I also enjoy using the room that is quiet for stretching. There are so many opportunities for fitness at the Y and I have gained many new friends over the years.
I also like the staff at Southwest. They are always welcoming and helpful. Our gym is like a private club!
Thank you Southwest staff! You are all appreciated.

People are friendly.
