Margina Grow and all of the preschool and child watch teachers at this YMCA are incredible! Our two boys attend preschool and child watch regularly and I am blown away by the staff’s passion for the children and families they serve. They are caring, organized, communicative, and a joy! I highly recommend their children focused programs!

My son loves YMCA Shady Grove Preschool classes. He enjoys the activities and the environment. The staff are nice and friendly. I just wish more academic curriculum such as alphabets, numbers, simple writing skills, playing simple instruments were taught as well.
I love the YMCA! You all offer so many things for the kids. My kiddos love the parent night out (we do too)! My biggest wish was that you all also open your winter break, or any other county school breaks to those kiddos who do not attend public school. I am sure it is a resource issue and you want to let those who are in after school care sign up first, but it would be great to give those who are in Henrico but in private school the opportunity to sign up for something. Otherwise, love the y!

Enriching programs for my son who is 9 with high ADHD. Summer camp is amazing. The activities offered there alone are so varied. Swimming classes are what have gotten my son to be such a strong swimmer. He has always had great swim teachers. Parent's Night Out is a Godsend for a single parent like me. For the price? You can't beat it. I wish you all had not shortened it to only 3 hours, but I will take it until he ages out. And we just signed up for flag football so we will see how that goes, but I am confident it will be just as great as everything else.
Your camp and PNO staff are outstanding. They are super engaging and collaborative. They really work well with my son and do a great job of open lines of communication. Swim staff? Iffy. But they get the job one. There is an older woman there who my son just did not jive with so I pulled him from the class after one session. Other than that though, outstanding.
The staff is very interactive, the communication is great, and our kids had a blast!
We truly appreciated the Homeschool KidFit program last month. My boys had an awesome time trying out different ways to get their bodies active from workouts, to yoga, to dancing. It was great! I hope you offer it again and promote it more so that more homeschooling families can benefit from this great resource. There was one little hiccup where the room had forgotten to be reserved, but the Y staff shifted well and were still able to provide a fun time for the kids.
