My son ended up with no one else in the Level 3-4 group, so he got a lot of time with the instructor to practice and learn new things. I also appreciate that non-members are allowed to use the classes
The outdoor pool is one of the BEST in the metro area for families especially when there is more than one child.
The activities are always on time I like the instructors and it’s close to home

I like the variety of activities. I DON'T like the fact that children age 11 must be accompanied by an adult when they are in the gym area. There is no place for the adult to sit and the area that used to be available is now part of the nursery or childcare area. I was HARSHLY yelled at by two Y staff members (who I later learned were the manager and assistant manager) for being seated in the childcare area--completely unaware that it is NOW off-limits. Other than this very negative experience, I generally enjoy coming to the Harrison Y. Unlike the one that is closer to my home, it has two swimming pools which make it a desirable facility to attend. I just came in to sign up for swimming classes and I noticed the pleasing smell of chlorine as I walked through the swimming are which would always smell like urine and body order. The lady that signed me up for swimming classes and all the life guards I talked to were very pleasant as well which is a good change. Thank you and have a good day!
