Everything
The fun of it all!
Affordable, fun, builds friendships!
We are all understaffed, but it would’ve Ben nice to have scoring like we did in the fall for volleyball ages 8 to 11
Good communication - solid principles
YMCA sports are a great fit for my six-year-old. The coaches are great and the weekly emails are helpful. The management staff is helpful and very positive and engaged. I have a lot of great things to say about YMCA sports for this age range.
One idea I have is that in another sport my child plays, we get a weekly text updating on the uniform color for that week. Even with coach emails, we sometimes have kids show up in the wrong color shirt. Software that helped with a text notification system like that the night before the game would be awesome. another idea is having reversible jerseys like with some other Ymca sports, but I’m sure there’s a reason that is not done for soccer.
Perfect thanks
I love seeing familiar faces every year. Ryan is a great official for all sports.
The cross country training program and our (ShadyGrove) proactive coach was awesome. This was quite motivating for my son... he enjoyed the entire experience of the final meet :)
Is there a training for triathlon for kids planned sometime this year?
Thanks!
No other association can touch what Shady Grove has… it’s people. They are accountable responsible considerate and endearing.
We had a great season with all of our coaches and teams. The coaches are clearly engaged and there for the right reason. Soccer and flag football are well run and details are clearly thought through.
Organization!
Christian values, activity for kids and affordable.
Great communication and sportsmanship! My son loved playing his first year of Soccer with the Shady Grove YMCA!
Very organized
My son took the basketball clinic for 7 to 8 year Olds and I thought the class was awesome. The main coach was great with the kids very enthusiastic and he gave them enough direction while still being fun and gentle towards them. I thought it was a great class for kids to get out the house an hour on Wednesday nights and get some exercise and have fun.
Very nice, super kind coaches and stuff.
Great atmosphere, encouraging for kids and families to stay active. Andrew Waring is a great cross country coach. Kevin too!!!!!

The diversity of participants and the dedication of the staff and volunteers to making the best possible experience for the kids.

Variety of opportunities offered for my kids to participate in. Coaches and staff were professional in their communication and encouraging of my children throughout the season.
It was just a fun way to get our 3 year old out and about. It's nice to have something to do outside of school and the home. The team website was easy to keep up to date on any changes and schedules for each week.
The communication of the league and portal was extremely beneficial. Our coach was amazing as well.
I like how organized, the communication, & the volunteer coaches.I think it’s a very well run program. Most of all my son has a blast!
They are close to home.
