The instructor was very kind to my 6 month old and tried his best to keep everyone learning with very different skill sets and attitudes. For a 12 month to a 3 year old. The group could have been better suited to focus on smaller age groups for the age range made it harder for all children to engage.
My instructor is great! She is super patient and knowledgeable. The entire staff at the pool is great.

Our family loves the warm, welcoming environment from everyone we encounter at our Goochland YMCA. Josephine, the instructor for our son's current swim lessons has been wonderful and truly helped him gain confidence in the water. We will be signing him up for additional lessons.

Tanner is a great youth instructor. He has made my child feel so at ease in the water, and my child is excited to learn new skills.
Hola a mi en lo personal me gusta, los programas de Natación, que mi hija está feliz aprendiendo a nadar, el de deportes por ejemplo el soccer que que mi hijo de 4 años comenzará a jugar el esta tan feliz, el programa de zumba que aún no me decido por escribirme, y por supuesto el Gym,. Clean pool nice staff.
Overall, swimming at the Goochland YMCA is a very good experience. A few thoughts:
- ensure lifeguard stands are occupied, especially when it appears you are sufficiently staffed.
- operate slide more regularly/consistently.
- skim/vacuum pool with greater regularity. I don't believe patrons would be bothered if this activity occurred while the pool is open (in fact, I bet it would be positively reinforcing).

The teachers are very nice and caring and passionate about what they do.
My kids enjoyed their first lesson and the instructors were kind and uplifting to each of the kids in the class.

We were gifted a three-month membership and this is really the first time our kids have been able to participate in a program because we are currently members. My daughter is taking swim lessons and we couldn’t be happier with Miss Kathy! She is absolutely wonderful with the kids and makes learning fun. Thank you for employees who are friendly, and truly passionate about their job!!
