Very active and diverse
The trainer (Jason) that I have been working with is professional, good listener and makes sure I am confident and comfortable with the exercises, machines, and routine. Highly recommend him.
All theother classes that I have been participating in have been very helpful with strengthening and getting me motivated to start taking care of myself (recently widowed). Glad I was able to come back and look forward going forward with everything positive from the Y.
I love the new machines in the weight room! The pool was way too busy to use, but that's OK. It was Sunday, anyway.
Incredibly welcoming!
I have been to several gyms. I used to be what I call a "gym rat." I had multiple surgeries that sidelined me for a while....quite a while. After I retired, we joined a new to us gym and though it was ok, it was really expensive and there were very few classes and of those, not many people participated. It seemed to be the type of gym where people were "showing off" not just working out. Then I had spine surgery that set me way back and it was time to not only put a hold on gym participation, but also, I began to look at how much I was spending. My husband and I retired and we were going to start gym shopping for a more inclusive and less expensive Our son recommended the Y. We went for a visit and signed right away. After the first few weeks, I started trying classes and even though I loved the vibe at the Stoughton Y from the start; friendly helpful staff and a wide range of ages and abilities of the clientele, working out alone wasn't making me happy enough (though I do it now once in a while and enjoy it more). I started taking classes and I began to LOVE my workouts. I went from "trying" to get there 3x/week, to signing up for classes 4-5 times a week! I was warmly welcomed by instructors and members. Everyone is SO friendly and encouraging. It is truly making my return to the gym a great experience. My husband also loves it there and it's really wonderful to be able to get healthy as individuals and as a couple. I love the programs and the staff. I know we made the right choice when choosing the Y as our new "home" gym.

Enjoy aqua water aerobics.I have been doing this since 1999 at the Easton Y. When I was younger I also enjoyed forever fit as well.

It helps knowing when you start something new you don’t have to be perfect in it. The fear of being in a gym setting washes away. All members of all ages and sizes are welcome. You also have a sense of community and an easy way to lose weight and be healthy. It also facilitates relationship through bonding when doing a program or activity regularly.
