Judy Wellington and Marsha Power make Garbo a brilliant salon that makes sense for all my beauty needs. We (my husband and I) have trusted these two ladies and others on their staff to fulfill our somewhat specialized needs for a couple decades. The salon operates ethically, cleanly, safely and beautifully; these operations attributes are greatly appreciated by us, a couple environmental professionals.
Judy Wellington listens very carefully to all her clients (even difficult ones!) and she is patient with her suggestions for 'success,' for example in achieving my near-impossible goals to make my thin frizzy hair into thicker, straighter, and easier-to-manage hair for the workplace and into retirement. With one ear slightly larger and higher than the other and one cheek slightly fuller and hair on one side of my head kinkier than the other - Judy can magically turn my freaky head into a satisfyingly human-appearing head. It comes with being a master stylist and cutter and colorist, etc. I trust her to do an excellent job every time - no matter which color or style I pick. (She even once worked miracles on helping me with my make-up and clothing choices for a special professional photo shoot I had to have for an international event.)
When I traveled extensively for work in the past, Garbo's was excellent in accommodating my schedule when I needed to make changes to appointments. When relatives have visited us in Austin, they too have gone to Garbo's with excellent results on hair, nails, facial and massage.
Strangely, the salon services we have received were the same quality as everyone else's who walked in the front door. Garbo is a salon that operates like a family of professionals who become your friends for life.
NO COMPLAINTS! Just marvels! So, it's no wonder why I recommend Judy Wellington and Garbo's North location when neighbors or friends ask for a recommendation. It's a no brainer! Rumor has it the South location is just as nice!

I have been going to Connie for over six years. She gives me the best haircut I have ever had in my life. My hair is very thick and coarse, but Connie has a way of making it look so much more stylish. The color is also amazing, and I get so many compliments! She has been in the hair business for quite a while, and I feel very comfortable knowing that she will give me what I’m asking for.

I’ve been a patron for over five years and very much enjoyed the stylists and overall team. Judy is an outstanding hairstylist who really understands my needs and is an artist at cutting my hair. She also gives me great tips on upkeep needed for my hair health and shine. I appreciate her kind, thoughtful service. Also, the online booking system is so so so so easy to use! They use and sell Aveda products, which are wonderful. Easy access and ample parking. This is a great salon! Highly recommend.

Jen is the best thing about the salon experience as far as I'm concerned. I asked for her input and she gave me options. She listens well and makes professional decisions that she shares readily based on her years of experience. She is artistic, talented, knowledgeable, and kind. These are the kind of stylists that are hard to find, and Garbo is fortunate to have her working for them.
Least best thing? Have you guys stopped putting cinnamon in the coffee? I was so looking forward to a cup of that! Got a cup of coffee, but no cinnamon...not even a hint.
