Friendly staff, knowledgeable trainers, lots of equipment options.
My 90-year-old father and I only use the workout facility. We try to go three afternoons a week. The staff are all friendly and helpful.
The signing on for the classes is terrible but I do it because of the instructors I have are so great. That is Val and Steve snd Jerry.

I use the workout room. I like that I can always get on equipment and not have to wait. They are constantly cleaning the machines. Everyone is super friendly.
Great instructors, good classes, lots of options, although after Covid is hard to find available spots on my favorite classes like Body Flow and CX Works
Love the water classes. Would like the return of deep water class.
The pool needs to be cleaned more often.
Senior classes....would like more.

I love it all! The fitness classes, cardio equipment and weights. Most of all, the staff is awesome. They are friendly, helpful and always happy to see me. So glad we joined the Y!!!

Staff
The exercise classes at the Lakewood Ranch Y are amazing! They keep their areas clean and socially distance every class. The schedule of classes is diverse, and every trainer is professional, not to mention they make their classes fun and know how to motivate you to reach beyond your potential. If you like group fitness, I would highly recommend the Y to anyone and everyone with an interest. The machines in the gym are awesome as well, but I prefer group classes.
I enjoy using the cardio equipment and I like the smaller weight machine area in the far side of the room. My only complaint is that we need a few more spin bikes outside of the spin class.

Great instructors.
The instructors are knowledgeable and down to earth,they make everyone feel comfortable to just enjoy the class. I like that they give different exercise options for different fitness levels in the classes.
Very nice staff and facility
We have been going to gyms for over 50 years all over the country and of all types from ordinary to swanky. We have never been as impressed with any of them as we are with The Lakewood Ranch YMCA. You have a wonderful facility with an incredible array of choices for a very affordable price. Plus, you do good work. But, what we think makes you really stand apart and by a lot, is your staff of fitness experts that lead every one of your classes and do your personal training. They are without peer. Beyond that, the staff at your facility is we think first rate and responsive to the membership. Last, while we cannot compare it to other facilities, your performance during this covid pandemic has been exemplary given that you don't have unlimited funds. The Lakewood Ranch YMCA has done more to get us thru these trying days than anything/anyone else. Thank you so much. We are grateful.
