Easy to register for, well-run, not too crowded.
I am a swimmer and like the availability of times throughout each day for adult lap swim. Also, the quality of the water is always clean, which is reassuring.
Friendly lifeguards and the ease of access to the pool area from the men's locker room is a definite plus.
However, one missing and very important item in the locker room is a bathing suit extractor. I have mentioned it over the past years and was told that extractors are on the plan for installation.
If you have ever used a bathing suit extractor as a swimmer you would appreciate their value especially in keeping bathing suits placed in lockers from dripping all over the locker floor (no matter how hard you squeeze dry the suit after showering).
Hope this suggestion will be discussed with the decision makers and that we swimmers may hope to see in the year 2026 a bating suit extractor in each Mens and Women's locker room. Would be greatly appreciated.

The instructors and classes are all wonderful!
Variety
Everyone at the Y Melrose treat all members as family. This has been the best sense of community I have ever felt at any organization!!!
Variety of programs
The instructors are the best.
The Melrose Y is a great resource. It’s clean, the programs and classes are fun and the instructors are personable and very knowledgeable. Everyone I meet at the Y is friendly and it’s a great community.
My son just started basketball there and he loves it. Coach is very professional and knows what he’s doing. The place is clean and staff very friendly.
Everybody from the front desk to classes are so polite and helpful.
I love the Y, it has something for everyone in the family! I've been a member for more than 35 years.
I love Michele’s yoga classes however they are very difficult to get into. The Y app is not functional
Really enjoying YMCA Melrose!
I love the YMCA and recommend it all the time.
It's a great place to improve your health and make new friends. The classes are challenging but there are also many classes for all ages.
I went through the Live Strong program and was so happy with it that I became a mentor. I find myself recommending it to anyone that has gone through cancer treatments.
Exercise classes are wonderful. I do wish there was room for more people in my favorite classes, so I don’t miss out on necessary exercise at my age.
Pickleball
The teachers of the classes are great. I don't like that if you don't sign up for MIchelle G's yoga class the second it opens you are on the wait list. It's not a great feeling to be paying for membership and not be able to take the classes you want to because of the size of the room. Are there really no times the upstairs or gym could be utilized for the bigger yoga classes. I understand why the bikes are upstairs but it's too bad there is not a better way to utilize the space as opposed to having to turn people away.
I like how everyone is nice toward each other’s positivity and it is a great environment to be part of.
Love the y! Great variety of classes and the nicest people.
Love the programs, the coaches and instructors. Currently we have Rubin's, and Addison in swim and Coach Ben for soccer! We LOVE them!!!
Great facility, friendly and helpful staff, good class options.
I am pleased with the facilities!
I appreciate the friendly staff and the variety of activities you offer. It feels like a truely hometown place with all ages enjoying it.
