Large variety for all ages and abilz
I love the classes and the instructors but I don’t like the new format for the class schedule! I don’t like that you can only look at one day at a time instead of the whole month
Everything is great except the cubby on the track platform. I find it in a dilapidated state numerous times a week. It is a flimsy design with little corner pieces that keep falling out and getting lost. This compromises the structural integrity of the rest of it and it falls apart more frequently as a result. I try my best to put it back together, but can't do anything about the five missing pieces and the one bent panel. Also people tend to use it as a storage locker and keep there belongings there for sometime weeks on end.
I intended to visit this location once to fill up my week, as my class at another location was cancelled. However, I fell in love with the atmosphere at this YMCA. They have many different instructors, and a wide range of classes to choose. The instructors are warm, engaging, and friendly. When the instructor walks in with a big ole’ smile and great energy, it sets the tone for the entire workout experience. They also have a lot of new and up-to-date equipment. You don’t have to wait for a machine. The gym area is expansive; so, no one violates your personal space. I’m claustrophobic and I can’t stand the feeling of being boxed in. After visiting this gym a few times, I never went back to the ole’ one.

I enjoy the branches of activities for ex. tie chi class, swimming classes, as well as other activities.
I love meeting new people and I get that from being at the Bryan Y.
Free swim time is my favorite part of the Y. The whirlpool is excellent, as is the steam room. My biggest selling point when I recommend it is the atmosphere - everybody talks to each other. I've made real friends there, and acquaintances I would never have met otherwise.
I like the weight room and all the equipment. Nice atmosphere 👌

The Bryan YMCA is always clean and welcoming. The fitness center offers a variety of equipment to choose from.
Overall great facility, faculty is even better. To not mention how up to date the equipment is would be a disservice. Grew up shooting hoops at the YMCA, figured it was only right to return to a great environment. It’s a 10/10 for me.

Kim is the best water fitness instructor I've ever had leading the class. She gets a 10 +++. The score I posted was a 9, not for the instructor but for the overall experience. The lifeguard situation is still unfortunate. As a general rule class starts a bit late and ends early so our time in the pool doesn't effect the start of the next class. Wanting to take full advantage of the class time I now don't have the opportunity to use the whirlpool after class and my muscles feel the loss of relaxation after exercising. Like many of my classmates I don't consider getting out of the pool after class, having to wait around for 10 minutes cooling down, then getting in the whirlpool an acceptable option. I find it interesting that the lifeguard situation has been adjusted for lap pool swimmers in the afternoons but not for the paying water fitness members in the morning.
Water fitness with Kim is fantastic. She is so full of energy and encourages us to be as active as we can be in the water. The music she plays adds to the energy. She is also an excellent instructor, giving clear direction, modifications for those who need them, and ongoing supervision of form. I hope Kim will be able to continue teaching for a long time. PS, she has a terrific sense of humor.

I think it is a great place and variety of activities makes it vibrant with lots of different people coming together for a positive purpose. The facilities are generally well maintained and there is ample equipment in the exercise room.
Areas for improvement - fix/replace shower curtains in men's locker rooms. Replace broken hooks in shower stalls - perhaps install some shelves in there as well. One of the elliptical machines does not operate properly (feels like bearing may be bad.)
