Love the swim arrangement at ksu. Getting lots of folks in the water.
Clean and up to date. Equipment for exercise is great. Very helpful in working for your personal needs.
Please note the Frankfort YMCA is permanently closed. The K-State pool is provided for Y-members on a reduced schedule. The West side facility is available for weight training and limited fitness classes. My support of the Y is based on the anticipated construction of a new facility. Presently, I enjoy the KSU pool for my fitness and general well-being. I plan to include the West side facility after receiving my second Covid vaccine on Feb 7. Overall, I have always believed in the mission of the YMCA.
More hours, more benches, scales to weigh on. I can’t totally endorse swimming right now if there is wait time to get a lane. This happens only occasionally, but who wants to arrive and have to wait? This will be a moot point after Covid and we can share lanes. I am totally grateful that the Y has worked out this sharing of the pool st KSU.....brilliant and I love the fact that we have the opportunity to work with a HBU.
Friendly employees and the care they take to make it a safe place to work out.
Love the SilverSneakers classes and Yoga classes.
Wish the pool was open through lunch with classes like use to in Frankfort.
Personally like the West Side facility because I am a senior and it has all the activities I need. It is much quieter and relaxing than the downtown branch, which has many more activities and is a lot busier.
Staff is always super friendly and helpful.
Enjoyed everything about it. Friendly and very kind/warm atmosphere. Was very proud to see just how much it was used by people in our town. Everything always seemed very clean to me. Even fresh cut flowers were always in the restroom. Loved the sauna. People were always going out of their way to be kind.
On one occasion, there was no soap in the shower.
The pool is great....and I believe that the staff is doing their best to maintain a safe environment for those who enjoy exercise and staying in shape. The organization of lanes, lockers, entrances etc. seem to be thought out and are working for those who value the safety needed at this time.
The pool
Bonnie is so educated & patient. She reaches out to every person in the class on their level
The swimming pool enables all categories of physical capability to get whole-body, cardio strengthening exercise.
The many programs and activities normally provided by the Y make a huge contribution to the health and well-being of the community and the individuals in it.
I only use the deep water fitness classes but enjoy them very much!
I’m so grateful the pool is open. Good for the body and soul during this difficult time. Appreciate the staff for coming each day and for keeping us all safe.
Variety.
Group exercises classes!
Personal training option
Definitely the pool classes
I like the friendliness of the staff and that the YMCA is a nice wholesome place to take children.
Water aerobics! You offer so many choices.
I wish the Frankfort Y would promote the classes a lot more. They promote land classes all the time but never do water aerobics classes.
Also, I do not like the Frankfort Y's schedule information. The website is wrong or very difficult to find and the white board in the front entrance is unclear as to exact start time of classes. I've tried to figure out what time classes start, but when I get there the pool is closed for breaks or the class doesn't start until 15 after instead of on the hour.
The Frankfort Y would be so much better if the schedules would be easy to understand.
There is a variety of group exercise classes for my skill level and I enjoy my instructors. The downside is that the floors in the exercise rooms are often dirty and maintenance is often slow.
Friendly staff. Gym isnt crowded.
Open when you need it
I mostly attend the water classes downtown Frankfort. I was disappointed with the pool closure at the prevention park location as it was more convenient & therefore I was able to go to classes more often. It was unfortunate that a fundraiser wasn’t even attempted for the necessary repairs. It would have better served the community to keep the pool open for the many folks who relied upon it for their health & well being.
I like the facility for the availability and updated systems.

The Frankfort Y attempts to provide as many options as it can afford for its members. I feel that the Y manage and staff care for membership and community health, wellness, fitness, and well being. The Y explores option and develops its programs to best serve the mebers.
