My twins both have IEPs for SLD. They’ve never been formally diagnosed but were assessed by their school district as having difficulties with math and reading. Both have had terrible academic wounds from teachers, who without thinking will say things like, that’s so easy why can’t you get it or why don’t you try harder? My twins aren’t lazy. They have a hard time learning math concepts. They need a lot of repetition and a lot of patience from their teacher. Mathnasium with its emphasis on natural language and its many gifted teachers has made my kids enjoy going for a math lesson. That is why I can heartily recommend you give it a try. What’s there to lose? It will cost you something but most good things do cost you something.
I’ve never seen kids so excited about learning math! My kids are in 3rd grade and kindergarten and both attend Mathnasium twice a week. Neither child was behind in math, we enrolled them to increase competency and fluidity. My older one already feels more confident and has started to ask the teacher for more challenge work at school. The icing on the cake is that this is an activity they can go to together.
We absolutely love Pac Heights Mathnasium! Not only they are consistently friendly and nice to students and parents, they go out of there way to accommodate everyones schedule to make sure kids getting the most out of their Math classes. My 5y.o always happy to go there and it's important to me that they've created this environment where children are willing to learn.
My 6th grader enjoys going to Mathnasium. We love the people, and the confidence it builds is priceless.

The scope and sequence of the math program is excellent and the reteaching and practice is exactly what our 4th grade son needs. As a teacher, I appreciate and value the monthly progress checks for that clearly show his progress. His attitude towards math and homework has greatly improved and he is more confident in his abilities. Divyata, Marshall and all the tutors are so positive and responsive. I have already recommended the program to other friends.
