I like everything, just use exercise equipment and cardio equipment , I have no complaints, personal is very friendly!
I love the group exercise classes. Body pump, cycling, cardio intensity, TBC. All very good. I would like to point out that the cycling room needs more lights, though. The rope lights on the east side of the room are completely dead. It is simply too dark (when the sun has not come up yet i.e. the 5:30 a.m. classes).
As I've said many times before, I love the Y! Before COVID I attended Silver Sneakers classes 3 times a week, for several years. I was hoping not only to stay healthy, but also to fill in my wrinkly 77-year-old skin with bulkier muscle.
By an amazing coincidence, I met my partner there, and we are living happily ever after.
During COVID I gained 8 pounds, and realized that I had been deluding myself by thinking that I was exercising every day. In reality I was exercising less and less as time went by. One day I saw a lady in the grocery store whom I recognized from Silver Sneakers. She was 94 years of age, and told me that she was going to the class again. By golly, if she can do it, in spite of COVID, so can I!
I've been participating again in the group exercise classes at Maple Street YMCA since September 2022. I love Kiki at the front desk, who gives a friendly greeting to everyone; Marilee who works herself into a sweat in an incredible number of classes; Amy who perfectly describes every movement we are to make; the lady who cleans in the mornings (sorry I've forgotten her name); and McCall, who takes my complaints seriously.
it's the people who make this YMCA a great place to exercise & make friends.
Friendly staff super clean building spotless good vibe

The Y is a wonderful community and treasure to the area. Evening group fitness classes are what keep me motivated! Fantastic instructors and classmates.
Friendly and welcoming
Love the length of the seasons. Its just the right amount of time to try out new activities.
My 9 year old has loved playing basketball.
We have had great experience with the Y, with varying levels of expertise. For our current experience, our coach is amazing!
The positive spirit of the volunteers and players makes the games fun! I appreciate that my son can learn sports in a supportive environment.
Very clean
The class times are convenient and the instructors are friendly and helpful. I wish that they could be more spaced out for seniors so that I could take more classes thank you.
Great classes and instructors! Great times for classes to fit all schedules! Gentleman at the front desk early in the morning is awesome! So friendly welcoming and helpful!
I like that generally it is not too busy and I can get on the machines I really like. The staff is very friendly and helpful also.

Enthusiastic trainers and the broad range of activities.
YMCA sports give kids the opportunity to try sports before the games become competitive. All skill levels are accepted without judgement and without pressure on the child to feel that they are bringing the team down if their skill set is not great. Kids activities allow children to try out a sport at a young age, so they can see if it might be something they would be interested in playing.
One thing I don't like about the Y sports this year is that Picture Day was held out at Millard North High School at 144th Street. Many in the urban area cannot get out to 144th Street. This location and the one-time event on Feb 4 were not feasible for many families that participate in the Y kids sports program. Picture Day was geared toward white, middle-class families and left out most kids who participate at the Maple Street Y and Butler Gast. The Metro YMCA can do better than this. Please offer more opportunities to have photo sessions at more reasonable locations.
Also, please provide another kind of photo opportunity. Perhaps have a time when parents can take a photo of their children in front of the nice photo background, holding a basketball. Parents who can't afford the professional photo could still have a picture of their kid participating in Y sports - taken with their own cell phones. Please offer some alternative to the professional Picture Day. The current arrangement is biased against diverse inner-city youth.
Participants are friendly, coaches are great, and George is easy to work with.
George Rocks!
Convenience in location.
Convenience in hours.
Friendly employees; although not very helpful as far as the trainers noticing if you're doing something wrong and correcting it.

We’ve only had two lessons but have been so happy with the program! Instructors are kind and patient.
