The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. My grandchildren’s instructor had a good attitude and was confident, communicative and encouraging. The lifeguards made it feel safe at the pool.
I thought the YMCA swimming program for children swimming basics 1-3 was great for my kids. Both swimming instructors were very attentive for the swimming group. Great start up for kids just learning to swim and understand swimming basics.
Competent instructors that individualized the practice to meet you where you are and grow your skills quickly.
The instructors are great, the kids have fun and love the pool, and I appreciate the smaller class sizes and the patience the instructors have for different skill levels. We love the facility and purchased a family membership shortly after starting lessons because it was so great!

I am grateful that there is a y near to me that I can water walk in because of a physical handicap I have. I am also grateful for the polite friendly manner the employees express at the front/greeting desk. All of them have most helpful.
Instructors are very good, well trained and easy to get along
We love the people and the facility. My daughter love's the child care and that makes it easier for me to workout.
The children felt comfortable with all the instructors, which allowed them to learn at an accelerated rate. Not only did the children have fun learning to swim, they realized the water was easy to navigate through. My 2 youth children did not know how to swim at all when they first started, 4 weeks later they are treading water, floating and using arm and leg strokes. I highly recommend the YMCA Southgate location for swimming lessons for all ages.
