We are currently doing the winter basketball league for my sixth grader. They’re having a lot of fun and learning great skills,. I plan to sign my sixth and eighth grader up for spring basketball with the Y as I did last year it was a great experience.
My granddaughter, Ravyn Chouinard , has been participating in the Junior Celtic basketball program with coach Matt. She absolutely loves it! Very appropriate for her age level. We are so impressed with the enthusiasm and coaching skills but most of all how engaged the children are.

Matt is amazing with the kiddos and basketball program. Appreciate his leadership and guidance with the kids while demonstrating kindness and patience. He’s a real gem.
Nice facility
I’m benefitting from my membership already.
It is reasonable pay and a good place to work out. There are many classes that are fun to exercise.
We love the Y! "Mr. Tom" is so patient with our boys at swim lessons, and we are also enjoying the gymnastics program. Everyone at the Kids Club is wonderful and kind. I am enjoying the yoga classes on Saturdays and getting back into working out.
While I have someone's ear:
On weekends with a big swim meet, it might be useful have an employee stand near the entrance and actually ask people if they are there for the meet/direct them over to Next Generation. This past Saturday, parking was packed to the brim at 9am, and many more cars were jammed up in the parking lot waiting for spaces....Also, there is often a waiting line for the treadmills; I wasn't able to get one the last time I came in despite trying several times.
Thank you to all the employees and instructors for all you do!

Has everything I need for a great workout
It’s nice and bright and cheerful and the people seem nice. Lots of different activities and equipment to use
You guys have the absolute best customer service team and I love the Beverly YMCA
The classes range from youngsters to seniors. The instructors who work with the seniors are conscious of the fact that not everyone can do all the movements. They watch everyone and work with all to do only what they can handle. This applies to both studio and pool workouts. Because the instructors do work with you, it encourages you to come back.
Great place to workout, socialize, great classes and instructors.
I like the people and the cleanliness of the facility which is very important for me.
My son has grown a true love for the water now and it is due to attending classes in the facility.
Both of my kids are benefiting from the facility and the awesome teachers.
The gymnastics program is well rounded which includes real training and lots of fun team building. The instructors are very comprehensive and my daughter is learning a lot about proper technique from the very talented coaches!
Overall I love the facility. The staff are great and my kids have both grown thru the child care program. I love the spin instructors but wish they would upgrade that studio. You really cannot hear the instructors teaching the class over the music. The bikes also get stuck often when bring the saddles up and down which is frustrating. It would be amazing if this were a more up-to-date environment to spin in. I think we have lost a lot of people to studios like Inner Cycle for this reason.
Everyone is friendly. There are alot of classes to join in. The equipment is great. The facility is very clean.
The coaching staff is phenomenal. The program leader is efficient, organized and compassionate. I can’t not say enough wonderful things about our experience at the y
We especially love the devoted, knowledgeable and skilled coaching staff. We are also very keen on the program's commitment to the "whole gymnast" and the emphasis on gymnasts' safety and mental health. Additionally we are compelled by how the program prioritizes the team as a community. Just a couple of examples are that: older gymnasts know the names of the younger ones and often share encouraging words; many of the coaches are former gymnasts themselves, what could be a better testament than their continued interest and commitment to the program.
Hope (age 4) and I have been very happy with her current swim instruction. She has come a long way since she started in December and she loves her class and her instructor. Thomas is the best - he is very kind, and always celebrates the children's accomplishments while gently encouraging them to take the next step. We had teen instructors last year and they were okay, but could probably benefit from more training with veteran instructors, such as Thomas.
Great programs and staff!
Staff is great, friendly, knowledgeable, welcoming, inclusive
Facility is clean, meticulously maintained and our Y always invests in programs and equipment to keep things fresh and new

The basketball league is great and the rules/setup is the perfect age appropriate approach to learning the game.
On a separate note: the new registration system doesn’t seem to show offerings for the upcoming season pre-registration which makes it extremely difficult for families to plan.
