I like the format of a 2 person scramble match play the best to get kids into competitive golf in more of a team atmosphere.
What I like most is how the players learn from each other. The less experienced players get to learn from their peers which, in some way, can be more effective then learning from the coach. On the opposite side of that the more experienced players get to be the teachers which can be a great learning experience for them.
Great addition to our junior program. Brings kids from different facilities together, gets them playing an individual sport with a team attitude!
It's a great program for the players as it builds team camaraderie. Plus, the scramble format takes pressure off, as well as increasing the team emphasis. They love the jerseys, as well as being able to play other golf courses.
As captain, I also love the team concept as it's more fun to get the players to communicate and work as a team. It teaches them how to interact with other players and learn about match play and a complex scoring system.

I am not a big fan of the all-star competitions as it works against the original idea of what I was under the impression the PGA Jr League was started for.
I thought it was meant to introduce new players to golf competition in a less threatening environment using the scramble format.
Very well promoted, well run by the Wisconsin Section, and the kids love it!!

It's the Little League of golf. Great to see lots of kids participate regardless of their golfing ability.
