The team aspect that creates unique opportunities for seamless learning, mentoring, and extensive coaching and game playing to happen.
Great way to keep kids in golf, while promoting facility as a junior golf destination
Watching the kids improve and enjoying the game of golf in a friendly, yet competitive atmosphere.
Most everything. It gets kids having fun in a mildly competitive atmosphere. It’s a great introduction to golf and the disciplines of the game. It helps get families out and involved as families. It’s a benefit to the course financially. It teaches kids organization, good sportsmanship and proper social behaviors.
It is great to grow the game and get parents and kids excited about the game.
PGA Junior League is the perfect introduction to team golf and individual competitive play as our juniors look to increase their involvement in golf. Our junior program is truly complimented by this season long competition and builds friendships for a lifetime.
PGA Junior Leagues are not only a great way to introduce kids to the great game of golf, but it teaches golf skills as well as life skills in an enjoyable setting.
Team golf
I think the premise is fantastic, still think we need to find a way to make it uber affordable so that we can be all inclusive. It is fun, pretty well fast paced and a great way to introduce the game to what we will all hope will be lifelong golfers.
The team aspect and watching the kids grow and improve, not just with their games, but in their personality and maturity.
Kids really get into the team concept and swag they receive.
Also the tv coverage helps give it some stature
Format
Awesome comaraderie for the kids AND parents and a great introduction to competitive golf. I also like the mentoring aspect of pairing older kids with younger kids.
The website is still awful and it's about time we dumped sportengine and went with something that works and is user friendly.
Oppurtunities for kids to play great courses.
PGA Junior League continues to grow at our club and gets more of my junior golfers to play even more golf at Barton. Our parents love the involvement and added activity it brings their family and it brings the entire family out to the club much more frequently. In fact on home match nights the dinning room is jam packed following golf and the kids love hanging out on the practice tee and putting green long after the match and dinner is finished. PGA Junior League has been a home run for Barton Hills!
Excellent program for developing youth golf. Challenges include having golfers commit to practice and matches.
Great program and great idea to grow the game!
The kids and parents love the concept, camaraderie, and the competition. The format allows all kids to feel like part of the team, even if their skill level is less than the rest of the team.
PGA Jr League is a fun low stress way for kids to get introduced to the game of golf. The thing that helps the most for kids under 13 is that they have the ability to play with their friends which at that age makes a big difference. The camaraderie of the team environment makes practices and weekly games much more enjoyable for the kids and in return makes the program more successful.

PGA Junior League creates a great team environment that would not normally happen in golf. If junior golfers are aspiring to play golf at the collegiate level, PGA Jr. League is a provides a way for them to gain that team dynamic. It's also a great way for Captains and Coaches to establish a positive learning and growth culture within the team.
