I use only the various machines in the fitness room. Treadmill and eGym plus a handful (about 6) of the standalone machines. Mon-Weds-Fri for about 1 1/2 hours.
the people are friendly and the areas are well taken care of, and I almost always have a good cup of coffee available when I am done with my workout .
Staff, hours, activities and equipment
I appreciate that your pool is open for use most of the day. I have an odd schedule & have been able to use the pool for rehab like therapy for treatment of arthritis. Thank you!
We come from Montgomery. Would love to see a YMCA closer to us. We love the YMCA youth sports program. My granddaughter is in Volleyball this year & loves it.
The yoga instructors are excellent!
Water aerobics keeps us Senior Citizens healthy. So appreciate this program!
There are plenty to choose from
The employees, pool, facilities, classes!
Spin class, with fantastic instructors!
Friendly staff and convenient hours
Swimming area, clean spaces...thank you!
The programs are geared towards the aging population.
I love the community and the facilities have character. Some of my friends don't like it because it is not modern, but I like the feeling of the facility.
Like the indoor pool. Debbie is my favorite water aerobics instructor, but I like them all. An additional class, on Saturday to make it 6 days a week at 8:30 would be nice.
Egym. Great and friendly support from the staff.
Variety and friendly staff
I like the facility at Branch Crossing in The Woodlands because it has been maintained and is clean. The yoga and Pilates classes have excellent instructors..
Great stationary bike room
Senior programs
The equipment in the wellness center should be cleaned thoroughly.
E-Gym !
Instructors are friendly and professional.
Senior activities. Since Shadobend is where most seniors in The Woodlands live, seems that YMCA shoud have more senior activities. And having senior or other exercise classes in the gym may facilitate larger groups participating it is unfortunate that the gym has terrible acoustics. For example, several months ago a Y officials made a lengthy announcement concerning an event regarding fitness associated groups, like medical aspects. A few were able to hear him, by moving very close to the speaker. After his lengthy message, I asked somone near me what he said. The answer was “next class is cancelled. Thus, I missed signing up for the free shire and planning ot eat with the group.
Similarly class instructors try to communicate with all. But terrible acoustics prevent that. Thus some, like myself can only follow the exercises of those close to the leader. Due poor eyesight it is difficult for me to see or hear the leader’s instructions or activities. Instead of making changes to acoustic wall treatment in the gym, they simply add more speakers or a bigger amplifier. I can suppply a brief list of articles on improving acoustics in a large gymnasium with high ceilings. As an engineer it seems like the most cost effective may be hanging baffles from the ceiling.
Many classes offered everyday
A good variety of types and levels of classes
I and others in classes for seniors that are in the gym are very chilly due to the excessively low setting on the air conditioning
The teachers told me they too are cold during class. Many of us in those classes would like the room temperature to be set higher than it currently is
Thank you
I love the expertise of tge instructors, especially Debbie Phillips.
I love the line dance class. I wish it was offered more than once a week.
Egym is a great way to get the benefit's of weight / strength training. Ben is a big help in the weight and cardio rooms.
