Support from staff & coaches
I have been a member of four YMCA'S over the last 50 years. Three in the Midwest and now at the Perry Family YMCA since the summer of 2021 when we relocated from Wisconsin to Dickinson Texas.
This facility is always clean and maintained on a daily base. The staff is "member focused" which is a key to retention and an attraction for new members.
The facility is smaller than my previous Y in Wisconsin, but the layout of the gym and exercise rooms are designed and used effectively to service the members.
I was recruited by the Y Executive, CeCe Caldwell as a board of directors member and I look forward to supporting the leadership team to further the mission and goals of our Y.
For children, the programs are excellent, well thought out and staffed by caring instructors. The
I go there because of the Class "Low Impact with Pranada " feel that its worth driving there for her class. Hoping that she will have an additional Day for that particular class , I feel that her class helps me with my goals in losing weight & help manage my health issues .
Love Hiro's yoga class! Also like the lap pool but the off season hours are difficult.
I like the classes!

Facility is very clean, and the people are great. I take the cardio combo classes. I've just started and would like another beginner class on Wednesday if possible.

The classes and instructors are fantastic! The facility is beautiful.
Love all of the classes
The staff are courteous helpful &accomidating, The facility is clean and spacious enough . The machines are all functional. Only notice that some members dont' clean the machine after using.
The variety of group exercise classes.
The weight room is very large with plenty of new machines & free weights. There is plenty of parking. Indoor pickleball in the mornings is a plus. My only wish is that a pool the size of the one at the old Edgar Smith Y on Hwy 3 would be a fantastic addition. I hear rumors of building an outdoor pickleball court, but I think it would be wasted money. There are plenty of indoor & outdoor courts in the Clear Lake & League City area, many are free and some charge a modest amount.
I love that the staff works very well with disabled children.

Please move/switch her Monday class to the larger room. Ty!
Variety of classes and times. Topnotch professional instructors. Gym hours. I love that the front desk speaks to me coming in and going out and they seem so genuine and energetic! That is a first for me and I've belonged to multiple YMCAs in my lifetime.

Its fun for the kids, and there is just enough kids on each team for them to get the one on one teachings from a coach. It feels like family when your there. Only thing I could ask is if a child gets on a team that child should be obligated to play by not missing practices or games. Yes things do come up when a child cant make it but missing all games but 1 should not be ok or missing all practices but 2 or 3 is also not ok. It is not fair for the other children all day.
