Variety of class offerings and times
Julie, the cycle instructor on Monday's is great. I appreciate that she uses the mic and doesn't "yell". The class is manageable, pushes you but keeps it safe and fun.
Please dust the HVAC vents and above them. Especially in the cardio/weight areas.
I have gone to two different YMCA in Tulsa area before coming here. I had issues with the other two because they were not very clean specially in the shower areas the shower curtains ahead a lot of dark two black spots on them .
So I came here to Tandy about four months ago, trying to come four days out of the week. It’s always been clean floors, polished restrooms, and shower areas are always spotless. Everything about this facility stands out for superior to the other two wise, I’ve gone the staff is always courteous and helpful.
It's a very good place to relax and work out I love it
Love the pools!
VARIETY
The variety of activities for me and my children to engage in. I enjoy the working out and swimming for sure! Still learning and trying the other options out.
Plenty of options for exercising, clean facilities. I do wish Tandy had more pool aquatics available on the weekends.
I like the friendliness of the staff at Dickenson and Heather who teaches cardio drumming and Zumba for old people at Tandy and Dickenson.
Many options
Flexibility of instructors to modify for all fitness levels. Small size of classes are like private sessions. Friendliness and helpfulness of staff. Close to home. The building is clean. One complaint: there are too many signs and they all look the same. Make them bigger or reinforce the main points- example Evolt Jan 3-7 in the break room. Too many signs cause sign fatigue and I’ve missed notices of upcoming activities because I ignore signs. Thanks.
I enjoy the kickboxing classes with Haley Roman And strength training with Shara W.
the pool the people
Swimming
Nice selection. My only complaint is that one of the changing rooms smelled horribly of foot fungus. It was nauseating. The floors really should be disinfected regularly. I pay more for the Y than I did for VASA, so I feel it should be clean.
The programs are awesome and versatile
Great choices and clean environment.
We love our YMCA membership, we're very grateful to have it and we love our facility that we go to. We just use the machines but I have looked into taking a class.
The schools out day camp is great. They keep the kids active and help them to be better kids. The pool is a great activity my kids and I enjoy as well.
I wish there was some water exercise classes available
The facility is very clean! The layout of this facility is helpful for all ages that workout there!

Convenience
Wonderful facilities and opportunities and classes.
The activities in the gym. And the swimming pool
We love using the pool, which is very nice. We really like both the therapy pool and the lazy river, which makes for a good experience. The lifeguards for the most part are pleasant people. What has been less nice has been the volume of the music at times. It would make a more pleasurable experience if the music was background music rather than a concert level for lifeguards. I really don’t like having to ask them to lower the volume, but have found it frequently necessary during the entire past year because at those times the volume is so high it hurts (even with earplugs in)). Not only is this uncomfortble to endure for 45 minutes or more, it is an huge safety concern as the lifeguards would not be able to hear the kids or others screaming for help or expressing distress in the water. It seems to be a small number of lifeguards who turn the music up to such a loud level. When asks nicely to turn it down, they will - although not always graciously. Some times they barely turn it down and at other times they turn it down a good bit but then begin to inch it up again. We do not like to complain so have only mentioned this to the front desk twice this year. The front desk has folks have listens well, expressed concern, and the music has been turned down. The first time, that lasted about a week. Since the lifeguards were the same ones, it must be concluded that white was told them didn’t “take”. Currently the music is lower and we hope continues so. The issue of loud
music is more frequent in the afternoon time slot. When the music is truly background music, it is a pleasure to swim. Thank you.
I wanted to lap swim. Lanes were full, except one, where a lady was just standing or walking. I asked if I could share her lane to swim laps. All the other lanes had at least 2 people swimming laps. She wasn't happy, but said ok. Not sure why she was in the lap pool, since there was a lot of room in the pool where people were walking and some just standing.
So far I'm loving the e-gym, recumbent bikes, the family pool time, and yoga classes. The Tandy is also an excellent facility and the staff are helpful, cheerful, knowledgeable and kind. Thanks to all of your team!
