Out of the Fifth group restaurants, Alma Cocina is one of my favorites. Granted I may more partial to Alma Cocina because I miss the Latin restaurants particularly Cuban and Peruvian favorites in NYC. The reason real I come back is for the consistently artfully well-prepared and seasoned food and prompt service. During my recent visit, my friend and I choose well on our appetizers and second plates. The Sweet Potato Llapingacho was fairly hot and bursting with flavor and Butternut Squash Guacamole had a little kick to it. I loved the seasoning and subtle flavors in the Braised Goat Huarache and she was very happy with the Cod Tacquitos. Every bite was so good we couldn't finish our plates so we got leftovers to go that still tasted great the next day for lunch! -Christine Hong

I thought the food was delicious, service was prompt (we had a concert to attend and were in a hurry), and the restaurant had and excellent atmosphere, especially given the location.

the waiter was friendly and helpful, but not intrusive. he patiently explained the difference margaritas. we ordered five small plates between the two of us, and he thoughtfully split the orders in two without our asking. the food was flavorful and beautifully presented, even when split in two, which meant more work for the chefs. we were just the appropriate number of times if the food was to our liking. the atmosphere was intimate and quiet, which suited our mood. we appreciate that parking is validated.
