Great facility and pool. The Life guards enforce lane rules
Great all around!
The water classes
The classes are great
Good options and family friendly. Shade around the splash pad would be helpful!
Love the new Y! I have yet to take any classes, but am looking forward to doing so. I'm a little concerned that it's getting very crowded during peak times. Not sure if there's any way to avoid that - but with waived joining fees (as is going on now) I'm afraid it's going to only get worse. :(
Everything!...and I'm just getting started.
The variety of classes.
Pool and space for kids to be free and play in basketball court and game room
Such a variety for all ages and families!
Great instructors!
Love the variety and frequency of classes and working out on new equipment is great. Staff is very attentive and friendly too.
I like the quality of the gym equipment and the convenient location. I also enjoy the outdoor pool.
I really like the instructor and how great most if all of them are in leading the classes. I also really like the variety of classes that are offered and the difference times.
I like the variety of programs, especially the pilates.
The early morning spin class has always been a great way to start the day, and we like the really big pre-k classrooms. No pool on site that we know of, otherwise it’s a great location.
Love child care. Katie, Nisha, rose, Carrie, one more I forget name. Swim lesson with Casey is great. Primas class is a little disorganized with a lack of leadership, like how to start a class and get kids to buy in with like a little song, or something to start the class. They just kind of start and like kids are scattered. It needs something to actually bring the class together, maybe even out of the pool, with short intro, have kids buy into it more. There are crazy diverse abilities which makes her job very challenging but I think every kid could benifit from just like this is how we start class and here is the buy in.
So far we like the variety of activities, such as volleyball for middle school boy, weights for my high schooler, salt water pool for my youngest, night swimming, etc. I was really enjoying the water aerobics class, but it is only offered two mornings per week and the past few times I tried to attend the pool was already full and class closed. I would really like to see that as a morning option 5 days per week, it seems there are many of us who would like to attend but are not able because of the very few classes being offered at this time.
I like the flow of the schedule and facility
I use the Y for weightlifting and I love it. While there I often run into friends, so it has a great community feel. Staff and members are friendly and helpful. I'm very glad I joined.
I'd like to make 2 recommendations. First, it would be great if you could purchase a rack and additional weights for the small weights collection. The small weights you currently have are all scattered on the floor under the heavier weights. They can be hard to find. Plus we need additional 5, 6, 7, and 8 weights. Right now it seems you have 1 set of them which is not enough. I know a lot of us need those smaller weights before we can advance to heavier ones.
My second recommendation is to purchase new mats. The current ones crumble!
Thanks for asking!
Heated pool, dance classes for adults, friendly and clean environment
Great classes and instructors, friendly people, a variety of choices.
Childcare!
I love your silver sneakers classes!!! The instructors are respectful and kind and bring their enthusiasm.
Excellent facilities. Clean, convenient workout spaces, very nice shower/bathrooms….family friendly, outstanding pools and splash pads for kids. We use it all and love having the Speer “Y” so close to our home/community. Great staff and instructors!
The pool and kids programs
All classes and programs are fantastic, but there is one thing that I would like to suggest.
I got the family plan, and I bring my two kids several times a week to the gym, and unfortunately, I a couple closed call in the parking lot with cars entering or turning too fast. Lately, the parking lot has been very full, and we have to park all of way to the back, which increase the walking across the parking lot. The YMCA in central has exclusive parking for families by the building that is very convenient when going to the pool with 2 kids (bags included). We picked the YMCA at the beginning because it is a family orientated center, but not all drivers on the parking lot are aware that there is kids everywhere and they must slow down.
thanks
I love the entire facility especially the pool area.

Have good hours, reliable equipment, and staff are friendly- particularly, Michelle, Donna, and Jeffery
