Ms. Lea is amazing
Knowledgeable swim instructors, comfortable environment, structured classes
There is a variety of classes
Varied programs and excellent leaders.
I like the water aerobics and aqua yoga classes.
But I wish they had more deep water classes. They are so good for our backs; but they only have one on Wednesday ( and I can't come on Wednesday).
the swimming pool is good
Home away from home
I love your indoor pool!
Good instructors, classes for all levels of equipment, trainers always available.
The family friendly aquatic environment and fitness facilities.
1Like the consistency of classes -- remaining in place, same times, each season. Most instructors great --Admire their commitment to the students/ to the Y.
2.Would welcome more variety in the evening zumba classes --as each season I return to almost the same series of routines from the prior seasons, week after week --the same warm up, the same routines --A new number MIGHT be introduced after several weeks, so that does happen. I realize the crowds are large, and easier for the instructors to keep it so all know the choreography, but-- --Inserting old numbers, not done recently could be done more if dont want to teach new ones -- It takes away from the exciitement and interest doing the same numbers season after season. --Ibelong to another Y --up north --where the instructor does a class of specific routines for maybe-like 6 weeks -- but still maybe mixing it up with one or two old ones or new ones---and then moves on to another set of routines (also including old ones maybe from recent, or from some months back. Yes, folks have to watch and learn, but if signaled before each step-- they are quickly grasped. ANyway-- just a thought. I'm grateful the puma classes are there. I do admire the dedication of the instructors.Kudos to them!!!! -
3.I'm not good on the 'preaching' aspect of one of the instructors, as I'm there to have the exercise itself be my pleasure or zen moment, as I experience it. Don't appreciate being told how we are a covenant or how this experience is 'supposed' to be, or how meaningful it is spiritually. Sorry---turns me off. I'm a spiritual person, and believe in holistic approach to all we do, but the Y is not my "church" and none of that hour even if only during warm up or cool down, when captive if don't want to leave with injuries, is where I want to be taught spiritual teachings, no matter how benign they are, or to be told the instructor is giving their all and expects the same from everyone else.. Some folks have health, back, etc issues --and shouldn't be made to feel one's failing the instructor or not doing enough. Inspriring people to try is one thing --im a teacher, and that's what I hope I do, via my enthusiasm for a subject, but folks should get what they want out of a class, no?It's an inflated sense of the instructor to feel they should preach at us -- not a discussion between students and instructor . It's inappropriate. Glad the instructor feels that way-- and maybe can share those thoughts after class to anyone who wants to stay and listen/discuss.

Amazing variety of classes. Great instructors. Affordable prices.
I have 3 grandkids that all do swim lessons. They are progressing every class. The instructor are knowledgeable and kind in there instruction
I have 3 year old twins and the introduction to dance is perfect for them
I feel like this is the first swim class my daughter has actually made progress in. Other classes made her scared and didn't give her any independence to learn and challenge her.
the affordability and many offerings that swim lessons are presented
Great instructors, love the availability and affordability. Wish the pool was a little warmer there were several days that several kids were way to cold to really participate fully. I know there is no way to keep everyone happy with lap swimming, those with arthritis, away participants etc but just a request if possible to increase temp of pool. Thanks!
Only complaint is roping off one lane for family swim. There should be half lap and half open swim for 2 hours when the instructional pool is not open after 5. I've seen 30 people squished in one lane

Everything is greatly organized, staff is friendly, it has an amazing community/family vibe. We love Speer YMCA!
