I love the extended hours for community and family. I am the only person who takes my 8 year old grandchild swimming (and got her swimming lessons). It is very important that I be able to take her at every opportunity, and extending hours for us is super important to this goal.

We come swimming about 3-4 times a month, and each time, we have always exited the closest door opposite the mens locker room. The last time, I opened the door a loud siren sounded and two "Y" ladies rushed at us yelling that it was against the rules to go out that door! They scared the heck out of my little granddaughter! A sign saying "Do not use" had been place way up high at the top of the door.....never noticed it before. But nothing else.
We had always used that door and it is very upsetting that those ladies insisted that the door was NEVER used for just leaving...………..when we KNEW that was not true!

Chantel is wonderful!! She has done a great job with my 4 yr old making her feel comfortable in the water. I consistently see progress each week. Would definitely recommend her as an instructor and the ymca program in general.

The pool wins the prize for my top two favorites of my swim experiences within the Central MD circuit. The crack of dawn (now pre-dawn) staff and patrons are friendly and “morning person” lively, and text notices are as timely as possible when situations warrant.
