We originally came to the Y because of your swimming lessons. We have a 3-year-old who needed to start learning how to swim. I didn't know who any of the swimming instructors were when we signed up for our first set of lessons, but we really, really lucked out when we were enrolled in Nikki's class. She is THE BEST! She is so good at balancing the common fears some toddlers/little kids have about the water with the need to instruct. She doesn't listen to whining/crocodile tears/excuses from my preschooler, but at the same time, she has a lot of empathy and knows when the tears/whining escalate to actual tears/being afraid. (I think that's really commendable because when you don't know a young child, it's really hard to tell what they're communicating.) I can't say enough good things about her! We were only planning on doing two sessions this winter/spring (and this is our second one) but now I'm not so sure--we might miss her too much!

Dan is a great instructor. He creates a great blend of technique and strategy that is rare among tennis instructors in a 90 min clinic. My only criticism is towards the facility. The courts are extremely “busy” from a visual standpoint. It’s difficult to call balls in or out because of the Pickleball lines and the small green dot (which I assume is where the center of the pickleball net is aligned) sometimes looks like a tennis ball to me out of the corner of my eye, so I’m constantly afraid of turning an ankle. I would have preferred a less “tennis ball colored” paint be used. Very distracting.
Maureen was such a wonderful teacher! My child has never been so engaged and enthusiastic.
Loved Nikki in class. She taught real skills and didn’t waste our time with silly songs and very low level swim instruction. Our girls loved the class.

The beginner tennis lesson with Dan was great! Please offer more lessons.
Coach Paul is awesome! My daughter enjoyed her lessons and learned a lot! Thank you!
Please number all of the resistance machines. Some are missing numbers making it confusing as to which to use.
The variety of classes available fits my schedule. It is a friendly place for all families and individuals.

Great place to exercise and friendly, helpful staff.
The variety of classes. My zumba instructor Sherri has changed my health life. She makes me want to be a better person by using dancing as a form of getting healthy. Thank you, Phyllis Johns
The Y is a great place for families to hang out

The Y in Arnold is great overall. I would have given a 10 as we have loved our experience there; however, our current class (Level 4 swim) was less than good. The instructor rarely got into the pool and these kids are 6 & 7 years old and need a hands on instruction. Then I was told my kid wasn't following instructions well...again, 6 & 7 year old kid that unless you are in front of they will be a little distracted (his level of distraction wasn't anything more than one would expect from a 6 year old). We had a poor experience this swim lesson season.
