Many different classes to choose from including pool activities
As seniors we enjoy the Wellness Center and appreciate how clean it seems and the precautions to keep us safe from the virus. The staff are great. Part of the reason we enjoy though is that we go at times it isn’t crowded. I expect that the Y needs more people and we enjoy there being less!
Instructors for group ex are great
I like the Body Pump classes by instructor and virtual.
However, I do have a concern regarding a recent policy put into place.
I feel like if a member signs up on-line for a class, then they should be able to attend and not have to be 5 minutes early.
I feel like if class has started, then someone else of course may take their spot.
The reason I do not like this policy is it encourages members to get to the Y class early and congregate outside of the door (which is not helpful with the Covid pandemic).

Swimming laps indoors in a heated 25 yard pool is my main reason for being a Y member. However, I love the social aspects also. The friendly staff is a real plus.
I don't usually have time to participate in your programs and activities - I just lift and ride spin bike in the wellness center (and now, during Covid, I ride my own spin bike at home then go lift at the Y).
The Salem Y is my home away from home!
The variety of options, especially at 5:00am!
Accomodating schedule for a working person, I like the variety of classes offered during the lunch hour. Great instructors who are knowledgable and push you to do your best and get in a great workout. They're super friendly too!

The staff is always nice, the facilities are clean, and the availability of equipment is good.
I feel that the Y has put in place many excellent safety measures. I do water exercise 6 days a week to keep my body strong in case I do get COVID.
I don’t do all the activities but appreciate you have
many family and invidual activities.

Instructors are wonderful. The pool classes are scheduled properly. The gals at the front desk are very friendly and accommodating when we have to call and make reservations. The Y is a great place to meet new friends and feel better by exercising!

The Salem Y is a great place to workout, swim and exercise. The facility is great and the equipment up to date. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly.

Love Mod Fit! Liked when I could swim but have not done that since reopening. Too many people say that people do not wear masks in the locker room and that they don't feel the women's locker room is clean and safe. . My husband will no longer take showers at the Y because Covid precautions are not being taken in the men's locker room. Neither one of us feel that the locker rooms at this time are safe to use.
The pool exercise programs.
We particularly like all the windows to enjoy the views and it adds to the brightness and spacious feeling of the gym.
During this "pandemic" season, the Salem Y provides each gym partcipant with their pwn spray bottle and paper towels to clean equipment before and after use, and then the floor supervisor comes behind and does another sanitizing wipedown! With that and spaced out machines we feel very safe coming to this gym.
The classes are scheduled with cleaning time between classes, again, another sanitizing perk!
