Generally well run facility, clean, accessible, friendly staff
Great mission, staff and programs. The YMCA offers so much more than other workout facilities.
I wish the YMCA had programs like in the 70s. When men could rent rooms and get off the streets.
I enjoy the family friendly atmosphere and the fact that the facility is geared toward regular people just wanting to get in better shape.
My wife and I enjoy the classes offered as well (for all age ranges and fitness levels).
They are close by.
I like the various workout boot camps that are offered. The trainers that work one-on-one with me. I like sauna and the my daughter loves the pool.
The Y is especially clean! I really value that and want to thank those who make that a priority.
But I am really unhappy about the next issue and want to take this opportunity to report it.
I was walking around the track on the very first day of summer camp, and watching the little children playing "duck. duck, goose" below me. It was around 9:30 AM. The Staff member, a young girl, had her phone ALWAYS in her hand, and was typing on her phone rather than playing with the kids. I walked about 30 minutes, and saw that she never put her phone down, and rarely even looked up from it to attend to the kids.
I'd be very angry if my child were in this group! Such inattention! So rude to those children! Let's hire Staff who WANT to be with our children, not those too bored with themselves and our children to interact with them.
Can you believe this was the very first day of camp? And during one of the very first hours of summer camp? How can summer camp proceed with any meaning if this happens on the very first day?
Families trust the Y to ENGAGE with children. What a terrible role model for these young kids--to feel that they are not important enough to engage with, or attend to.
I realize our culture is addicted to the phone, but a Y staff member, paid or volunteer, should be doing her job exclusively. She does damage by ignoring our children. And risks liability should such inattention lead to injury.
Please train these young staff members better! Prohibit phone use. Our children deserve better, and staff must respect that families are entrusting our most precious children to their care.

The variety of group activities and times available. Additionally, the ability for independent workouts with a full offering of machines available. For the beginner, the “coach approach” program is also offered to gain confidence in your workout.
