YMCA is a family oriented facility focused on activities that family needed into there community. I wished that they have one closer to me at Stockbridge near Eagles Landing. As a single mother & took care of my two kids, YMCA given me freedom to exercise while my kids had room to grow mentally & physically on their after hours program. Thank you, YMCA!

The host at the front desk. They are very nice and polite always good morning.
Accept, I don't like you all cleaning crew. The bathrooms are always dirty. The showers always smelly. They never keep the bathroom clean. But the crew that works at the front desk and the managers always good. And polite cleaning crew a horrible. That's the only complaint that I have. You always changing cleaning cruise that don't know how to keep the bathroom cleans. Showers are staking no tissue in the stall the bathroom floors are never mopped or clean. that's my only complaint.
Great classes. Good workout area. Love the sauna and steam rooms. Lockers need a bit of refreshing - rust, etc.
I only attend Eatslake for yoga. It used to have the best yoga/Pilates instructor I've ever had, but she was let go during the pandemic. It also had a great spinning instructor, but she was also let go during the pandemic.

I love the YMCA and grew up going to the YMCA to play sports and work out. I think the East Lake location needs to seriously improve its gym/weightlifting area. Many of the YMCAs that I have been to have large weightlifting areas that include many squat racks, deadlift platforms, plenty of barbells, and rubber bumper plates for olympic/power lifting. This location has only one squat rack and a total of 4 barbells. There is no place to do deadlifts and no rubber bumper plates. There are many activity rooms at East Lake that could be easily be re-purposed for additional weightlifting space.
I'm a happy supporter of the YMCA and have been for many years - I think it is a great place for people to engage in a healthy lifestyle. But East Lake's weight room is so lacking that I pay to go to a non-YMCA gym to lift weights. Thanks for your time.

Pool, yoga class, spin class
I love the family-friendly environment, my kids love the pool, the workout facility is amazing (inclusive of the sauna and steam rooms). We are over the moon happy with our membership.
I like everything about the y. Camaraderie staff classes you name it.

I've had so much trouble losing weight until I signed up to take Joy F. Class and coach approach. She is serious about her craft and has a level of understanding about how to shape and strengthen the body that's rarely seen. Im surprised but grateful the Y has an instructor of such caliber. She is a rare!
I love the pickle ball. But the courts are not maintained, you can barely see the lines.
I love the family-friendly and laid-back atmosphere. It's not fussy. I love the childcare options - free play center drop-off and inexpensive Parents' Night Out. We hang out at the outdoor pool with friends all summer!

Outdoor pool. Kids swim lessons (though quality varies by coach and how diverse the skill level of kids in the class). Adult group classes
I love the East Lake Y! I use the indoor pool, whirlpool, and outdoor pool multiple times a week. My favorite offering is the water aerobics class with Elfreda, she makes the class so special and fun people get hooked after trying it once! The Y should increase the class size limit for her water aerobics class or see if she'd be interested in teaching the class at 7 am and then again at 8 am because it can be very hard to get a spot, especially in the summer. Last week I went to sign up for a Thursday class exactly 24 hours ahead of time and even though I signed up at 7 am, I was the fourth person on the wait list and didn't get a spot in the class. It's a shame that many people are prevented from joining the class because it's so hard to get a spot. A lot of people who come to the class mostly use the Y for water aerobics over the other facilities and we all deserve reasonable access to this class we're paying for.
As a female young adult, having a safe space to workout is hard to come by. YMCA of Metro Atlanta always makes me feel safe.
