Apart from going through several helpers before Abby and I seemed to click (others' circumstances and choice, not mine), the stability and assistance helped keep laundry and other chores, and picking up medications much easier. Her body doubling, and question answering as I worked to set up Trello to help "project manage" my main goals / breaking them down to weekly chunks was great.
I am planning to call my state case worker to determine if there is a current program where I can get additional support, until I am employed in such a way I am off benefits and can afford to continue.
Having ADHD and a myriad of other physical and mental problems has always made life difficult. Some habits developed. Many more, I believe to go. As much as I struggle with keeping to time-blocking under stress, having someone there to assist, ENCOURAGE and VALIDATE progress that my brain sometimes doesn't see, is highly effective for someone with ADHD.
It's a great service. I am thankful for the ILSP pilot program for getting us together. 10/10. Thank you, to Abby Witkowski. I'd love to work with her again.
