Adventure Summer Camp keeps my child engaged throughout the day, and the level of activity helps her sleep soundly at night. The counselors are top notch.

Our family is so grateful for the experiences our son, First name removed, has had at the YMCA Outdoor Summer Camp this year. Every day, he wakes up excited and eager to head to camp, and it’s clear that this is where he truly shines.

The YMCA values of respect, responsibility, honesty, and caring are not just words on a wall here—they are lived out daily by every counselor, and those values have begun to permeate our home as well. We’ve seen a noticeable change in First name removed, as he’s grown more confident and resilient, tackling challenges with a positive mindset. One evening, while working on a particularly tough puzzle at home, we overheard him say to himself, "I can do it... I'm camper of the week!" It was such a heartwarming moment, knowing that the encouragement he’s received at camp has made a lasting impact on his self-belief.

The entire camp staff deserves high praise, as every single counselor has been professional, kind, and truly invested in the well-being of the children. They have created an environment where First name removed feels supported and valued, and as parents, that is something we cherish deeply.

A special mention must go to Ms. JoJo, who has been nothing short of incredible. Her dedication and advocacy for these kids are evident in everything she does. She is exactly the kind of person you want guiding your children during these formative years—someone who is not only skilled and organized but also genuinely cares about their growth and development. Ms. JoJo’s influence has been a beacon of positivity for First name removed, and we can’t thank her enough for the role she has played in his summer.

YMCA Outdoor Summer Camp is more than just a place to spend the summer—it’s a place where children learn, grow, and thrive. We are so thankful for the impact it’s had on our son and look forward to many more summers with this incredible team!

My daughter is having a wonderful time at camp. The counselors do a great job of getting to know the kids. Miss JoJo and Miss Nancy are the best!

The Kennett YMCA is a friendly place. The staff makes everyone feel welcome. If you have any questions the staff will find the answer.
There are numerous activities/programs for all age groups or if your interest lies in individual exercise the “Y” has it.

Interesting, diverse, good instructors

I like the variety of equipment, the helpful staff, the way the staff make changes annually to the spaces based on how members are using the equipment.

All facilites are good. Great staff. Good environment.

Zumba

I like the variety of options for group classes, but I wish there were more offered in the evening on weekdays

Love the yoga and Pilates classes.

The Les Mills programs are great workouts with fabulous teachers, who are friendly, energetic, and supportive. I meet such nice people in the class who are very welcoming and friendly. Overall, it’s a wonderful experience!

Mostly nice and well-trained instructors for classes I like at times that are convenient for me now that I am retired.

The availability of so many different sports, classes & equipment is phenomenal! Instructors are great, program directors are helpful & all the staff I have come in contact with have been friendly.

I am so pleased with the summer camp program at Camp Kennett. The counselors and support staff are wonderful! I feel that my child is being engaged in productive activities throughout the entire day. And there are so many members of staff present between counselors and leaders I know she is safe and the staff has more than enough support to provide a safe and positive environment for my child.

My child loves camp so much that he gets upset when I pick him up before 5pm.

My child loves swimming everyday and needs the daily structure.
