Member Testimonials
Friendly people, great facility - what more do you want?
Lots of different classes to choose from. As new members we have been impressed by how friendly the staff is. Also the facility is very clean and up-to-date.
Great classes that are welcoming and have encouraged me to get into a weight-lifting routine.
The staff is great at this Y!
My daughter is attending to three programs in YMCA, she loves YMCA!! We need a kárate program. Thank You!!
Love the people, instructors and classes! The facility is a no thrill place but it does have a good mix of equipment and classes. The place can sometime get too crowded. I guess it's a good problem to have but on the flip side is that, it can also be negative. It's hard to exercise when the place feel cramped. I know people who decided not to join the Kennett Y and go someplace else was because the place was too crowed. To keep the existing members interested and attract new ones, upper management really need to consider giving the Kennett Y funds to update and buy new equipment and add more room for classes and weight room as well. The front desk staff are friendly and personal. Love Ms. Jeanie, always smiling. Ms. Valarie and Ms. Alison are 2 most caring and kind Child Watch staff I know. The Kennett Y offer so much more class options compared to other Y. Thank you Ms. Rhonda! The instructors are truly exceptional! They are inspirational, friendly, dedicated and truly care about your wellbeing! Love Ms. Rhonda's Body Combat/Kickboxing and Bootcamp classes, Ms. Krysta's Grit and all of her classes, she is a Superwoman! Ms. Rhonda, Ms. Krysta and Ms. Jessica's Body Pump and Body Attack classes. Ms. Emily's Balletone/Barre and Pilate classes. Ms. Jen's Core and Body Sculpt and Ms. Kelly's Tabata Class. The kids Love Ms.Jil's kid's Zumba and Ms. Jo's kid's yoga! They are a team of exceptional instructors who will help you, push you and inspire you! I truly hope upper management takes great care of these exceptional instructors, front desk staff and child watch staff. They are one of the reasons why Kennett Y is so popular well liked. Take great care of the staff and make sure they are happy then you'll have happy members.
Staff are excellent for classes I participate in (current and past) - including Cycling (Mary Ann, past Jen Opdahl, really all), Body Pump (Jess Buckley), early fitness with Regina and the community of individuals at the Y that are friendly and always lift my day.
The classes at the Kennett Y are amazing! They continually push and energize me, thanks to the supportive and talented instructors. No way could I do this on my own.
So many thinks to do for the entire family. Thank you!!
Love the early morning 5 am classes and the community
I like the variety of programs available, the very friendly staff and members; and the clean and safe environment. I also value the ability for teenagers to go to the Y after school to workout, play basketball, sports, socialize - much better than hanging out at home on their phones. I would be nice for one of the gyms to have a volleyball net set up after school - seems all that is available is basketball.
Well, we are actually members in jennersville.... we only went to Kennet for my son's basketball game this past Saturday. It was a great game!
I really like the layout of the gym compared to other gyms around. There is plenty of cardio equipment. I hardly ever see anyone waiting (and I show up around 6 pm). I also like that there is room to do floor exercises and mats. Many gyms dont' have a good place for this. The Kennett YMCA is always adding new equipment and takes really good care of the equipment. Very rarely is there a piece that is out of service. There are also lot of great classes to choose from. I enjoy the Barre class on Monday evenings, but have also attended body combat and zumba. I frequently use the upstairs track, and have used the pool a few time as well. I'd like to do some of the small group training, but I need something that takes place at 6 pm or after. That's the only thing I really haven't had a chance to participate in. Thank you for everything!
great value, good people, supportive of the community
Friendly people. Bringback towels please?
Good access to facilities
Equipment and variety. Friends
Good classes; good instructors; friendly staff and members
Great atmosphere to work out!
I love the helpful, personable staff.
It’s free
The variety of offerings. There is something for everyone. They are continuously adding more interesting programs.
I love the family oriented focus. It helps busy families, with a limited amount of time, to more effectively partake of "quality "time with the family.
I love their warm and friendly staff, who are always willing to assist in any way.
I can do a variety of exercise options every day and the people are helpful and friendly.
Thank you.
The classes are run by very professional leaders who are not only great instructors but make an effort to get to know the participants.
Am enjoying classes. So far mainly yoga body pump and Pilates barre
Jane's 11 am swim class, Sandy's gentle yoga. Friends and fellowship. Jeanie at the front desk.
Problems at the Y: recently warm pool not available for swim class, new lighting in the warm pool, class size in Richard's balance class reduced so my spouse cannot take it with me.
Its affordable. The location is convenient. The space is beautiful, very clean and welcoming. The staff Is welcoming and helpful. The amenities that come with the membership are great. All of the equipment works, is new, and always clean. This is my first time being a member of a YMCA and I get a great sense of community from the center, which I really appreciate. I've already gotten my room mate to sign up as a member as well. I'll continue to recommend the Y to everyone I know!
Great facility; many yoga classes, lovely pool for swimming laps, lots of fitness equipment, friendly and helpful staff
One item for suggestion - there should always be at least 2 (3 would be best) lanes available for lap swim. I understand the need to have swim team practice and open this facility to community use. However these swim schedules should be spread out over the evenings and not compacted into the times around 4-7. Inconveniences and ideal times should be shared between swim team members AND Y members. Also, when a swim team lane has less than 4 swimmers, the swim team lanes should be consolidated and lane freed up for members lap swim. Thank you for considering these thoughts.
