The team at Mathnasium has done miracles to remove the anxiety around math for our son. They met him where he was at and started building his skills from there which is way more productive than the way the school does it by constantly moving on to harder things before mastering the current topic.

Mathnasium in California, MD deserves 10 stars! My daughter was/is struggling in Math. I tried to help … to make math fun using interactive videos and even have her friends help. She always “shut down” within 5 minutes. I took her for her math assessment and she left excited about Math. I couldn't believe it. I immediately enrolled her and her sessions are the one thing she looks forward to. She LOVES the staff, she loves “mastering” her topics. I love how her self esteem is improving. The staff have been exceptional to work with as well! Thank you, Mathnasium!
The instructors and specifically the management (Julie) make Mathnasium of California MD a wonderful investment. Julie makes it a breeze to get started and to continue with in-facility instructions. She is always willing to work with busy schedules and provides alternatives to meet the different needs of families. She makes the learning environment fun with theme days, rewards and special celebrations. My children are always excited to attend. During their time at Mathnasium, my children have not only grown their math skills, but also developed a positive outlook on math, an outlook filled with confidence and excitement.
Mathnasium's approach of teaching the principles of problem solving has benefited my child tremendously. He has been able to carry these mathematical practices from elementary school through high school. The ability demonstrate adaptive reasoning, strategic competency and understanding, as well as procedural fluency is not just a school skill, it is a life skill.

We started at Mathnesium a year ago. Our daughter despised math and would shut down on problem #1. We had countless homework nights filled with frustration and lots of crying, maybe more my husband and I than our daughter. Within a month her attitude totally changed towards math and she went from hating it to excited to go. She even asks to go for extra times like their Friday nights and Christmas camp. Julie is a rockstar manager. Her positive spirit is infectious and she knows all the kids and families. We literally went from Cs & Ds, more of the latter, to As! Total game changer. Our boys have been at Mathnasium for about a month now. So far things have been going really well and they actually look forward to their sessions. They finally don't hate math anymore and things are getting much easier for them. We look forward to continuing to see progress!

Mathnasium is the best! My girls love math now and are way ahead of their peer grade levels. The center has great staff really helping the kids to form strategies of progress and accomplishment. We started with just a summer camp, but will be members for many years to come.

Mathnasium in California Maryland is doing a great job teaching math and making it enjoyable for the students. The math coaches/instructors are engaged with the students, the students' math teachers at their schools and the parents. They tailor lessons to each student's current needs and abilities. They have helped my student strengthen his understanding and application of concepts where he may have only achieved partial command in class. This is important since math is highly comprehensive going forward--an increased understanding yields higher confidence and achievement at the next level and a more enjoyable math and science experience. Mathnasium is a great resource in our community!

Mathnasium has guided my child from being a frustrated fifth grade math student to a confident high schooler taking honors level math classes. When taking the time to consider that in the state of Maryland, the latest statewide test scores indicate that only 13.2% of students have proficient level math skills, it becomes evident that my child could not have achieved this turn around without the skilled instructors at Mathnasium.
My daughter has been challenged by the math curriculum in her local school. Over the summer, we opted to have her assessed by the Mathnasium staff - free of charge! The assessment results echoed the struggles we had been seeing in her grades. I'll admit, we were taken aback by the pricing, but after just a month, I can say we are seeing the full value of our investment. Our daughter is eager to attend her sessions, feels empowered by the teaching style, enjoys the reward system, is making tremendous progress in assimilating content, and consistently inquires, "When is my next session?" The enthusiasm of the Mathnasium instructors has a direct impact on building the same love of math in their students. With this as a foundation, Mathnasium instructors encourage their students to explore the competencies of math and build connections through a variety of teaching methods. My child went from crying doing math every day to happily walking in to mathnasium. She speaks highly of all of the instructors. She is progressing through her math lessons well and has gained confidence back.
My child loves going to Mathnasium, even after being there for a year. We maximize use of her 10 sessions each month and it has already proven its worth! Instead of having a summer slide in her math skills, she showed growth on beginning of the year progress monitoring at school. By the winter, she was finally caught up to "beginning of the year" skills for her grade level. Now, as summer approaches again, we are looking forward to continued growth as well as summer camp fun.
