We feel that mathnasium is a great place to work on number sense, which seems to be done very minimally in our local school. I also feel that the elementary curriculum has way too many topics at a young age. Teachers can’t spend enough time on the fundamentals (multiplication/division/fractions etc) so we are SO GRATEFUL that this can be reviewed at mathnasium.
We sent our son for math enrichment. He loved the experience as he walked in and walked out having completed the math required and didn't walk away with homework!
He sought help with text prep and worked at his own pace and on his own learning journey so he never felt dragged down by others'.
He thrived but also the experience ensures that his math base is solid.
Given his aptitude for math and the support he's been given by Mathnasium he's been advanced a full grade level in math as he is about to start at private school. An opportunity he may not have had without the support, extra math exposure and experience working with the great staff at Mathnasium!

Outstanding Experience at Mathnasium Leaside
My daughter, now in Grade 9, has always put in tremendous effort in math, but she has struggled despite her hard work. Throughout elementary and middle school, we enrolled her in various programs to support her learning, yet she still faced challenges in grasping key concepts.
Over the summer after she graduated from Grade 8, I began searching for a centre or tutor who could provide not just homework help but also fill in foundational gaps and strengthen her understanding. While several tutors were recommended, I felt their approach focused primarily on assisting with assignments rather than teaching the essential skills she needed to succeed. Then, Mathnasium Leaside was suggested to me.
In August, I met with Leah at Mathnasium Leaside, where I shared my daughter's learning needs openly. Together, we developed a personalized plan tailored to her learning style and the fundamental math skills required for success in Grade 9. Since August 2024, my daughter has been attending Mathnasium twice a week for 90-minute sessions, and the impact has been amazing.
Her confidence as a math learner has grown tremendously. The owner, Leah, the centre director, Fatima, and the entire Mathnasium team have been incredible—not only in supporting my daughter but also in keeping me informed and involved. Their communication with parents is exceptional, and their commitment to a positive learning experience is evident in everything they do.
