Best decision I took for my kid
My husband and I cannot bestow enough praise upon Mathnasium and what it has done for our son. We brought our son in because he was struggling with geometry in summer school, after failing in during the school year. He was so frustrated and on the verge of completely giving up on math. He was not sure that anyone could help him and he was not excited about doing even more geometry.
However, after a week or so we began to see a huge change. He started saying he understood the concepts and was passing all of his weekly assessments. One day he texted us from school just to share that his teacher asked him to teach the class a particular formula because he was so good at it.
Our son ended up getting an A in geometry and passing his SOL! I’m moved to tears when I think about how much help he got at Mathnasium. I would recommend their services to anyone.

My son enjoyed hims time at Mathnasium. Even though he was getting help with math I noticed he was more attentive in other subjects.
My son began going to Mathnasium shortly after the start of eighth grade. He was in honors algebra and had an e average. He went three times a week, every week, for 7 months and he not only passed the SOL for algebra he scored a perfect 600. I am not saying that the results that he achieved by going to Mathnasium would be the results that every child can expect, however, it really helped him grasp his homework and also be reacquainted with math that he had forgotten. He actually enjoyed going to tutoring because of the setup of the program . I am very very happy that we chose Mathnasium and if he has any struggles in the future we will be sure to come back.

They take the time with my daughter and make sure she understands what she is learning and doing.
We were with Mathnasium back when Athena was in 3rd grade and didn't come back until now that she is in the 6th grade more for the part of financial reasons but we are very happy with the help she is getting here and have tried other tutors but they just don't compare.
When she was coming back in the 3rd grade we talked about it so much that the 3rd grade teacher has her daughter now going to the Mathnasium in Great Bridge for help with Math for her.
My son, a sophomore in high school, is in an intense STEM program. The high level math was greatly stressing him. The folks at Mathnasium have taught him better methods to do the Honors math courses that he is taking. I am happy to see him smiling when he leaves and have him tell me of the A-HA light bulb moments of understanding that he has gained.

Math had always been a thorn in my son's side since 4th grade. Over the years I have sought out math tutors for him. As a result he would improve a little. However, after discovering Mathnasium we saw greater improvement in his test scores, and self esteem. His greatest accomplishment was passing his Geometry 2 SOL, which definitely was because of the help received from Mike and his outstanding team. One of the things that i can appreciate is that Mike is very passionate about what he does. He finds the disconnect, and bridges the gap by helping the students understand the rules and concepts. My daughter has been with Mathnasium not quite a month yet. However, her confidence in her mathematical abilities as well as her math grades have gone way up already. She really enjoys attending her sessions. I highly recommend Mathnasium.
My daughter is not a big fan of Math but the staff at Mathnasium at Princess Anne have made learning Math fun for her. It is a wonderful place and I highly recommend it!!

My daughter has always struggled with math. Through elementary, middle school and my tears I felt hopeless to help her. She failed every math SOL, maintained a very low grade since elementary and was in danger of having to go to summer school. Her pediatrician recommended that we try Mathnasium. During my first meeting with Mike I asked him if they would prepare her for her last middle school SOL. His response, in the nutshell, "no we will teach her a different way of learning math ". Though Mathnasium's method not only did she pass her SOL, she passed her math class!! My rising high school freshman is very confident and super excited to start the 9th grade!

Mathnasium of South Virginia Beach has outstanding instructors and a fun, friendly atmosphere that enables kids to learn and grow in their math skills and confidence.
In hindsight, I can see how Mia's struggle with math had cast a shadow on her overall self-confidence. But thanks to Mathnasium, her rising math grade positively influenced other areas of her life- academic and personal. As they brought clarity to her CURRENT curriculum and she invested the time, ALL her grades improved! I believe that's when she finally realized her potential because she's worked hard with other math programs/tutors before, but to no avail; which would make any student start to think, "I'm not very smart." But she learned more than math skills, WE learned another life skill. Hard work does NOT insure success.
WHO and WHAT we work hard with makes all the difference. That is WORKING SMART!

Mathnasium has been a great addition to our kids' study plan. They are friendly, make learning fun, and have tutors available for all ages from basic math through AP courses.
