Both our boys (ages 10 and 12) have enjoyed their summer experiences at Portsmouth's Mathnasium. It makes sense to keep them stimulated during the summer break so they're not spending the first 2 months back at school relearning last year's math. What's even better is they actually LIKE going to mathnasium!....this is in stark contract to other education services we've tried in the past. Thanks Doug Sterns for your terrific management!
Seeing my son gain confidence and successfully grasp concepts that he was previously having difficulties with is amazing. I'm impressed by each tutor who has work with my son and the feedback we receive after each session. Each interaction we've had has been positive. The initial assessment testing allowed the center to identify what areas needed immediate attention and that's where they started. We plan on continuing the tutor through the school year to keep our son on track and give him the extra assistance he needs. I highly recommend Mathnasium!
You know the program is successful when your child wants to go back every week.... throughout the summer!

Mathnasium has been a pleasure to deal with. They are professional, efficient and provide an excellent quality of tutoring tailored specifically for your childs needs. It is not inexpensive, but I consider it money well spent as an investment in my son's future. He received decent grades in math, but I knew he did not have a thorough understanding of the required math concepts. This summer we are turning that around!

My daughter has raised her grade from 66 to 90 in Pre-Algebra in just 3 weeks. We are so grateful to Mathnasium staff for all their support and personalized learning plans.
My daughter enjoys going to class very much and has learned a great deal in a friendly and comfortable environment.
The atmosphere is very conducive to learning. Its clean and bright and there is space for the kids to spread their work out. The teachers are knowledgeable and patient and seem very good at engaging the students.
The care and attention to the student as a whole person, treated as a young adult, has been what I believe to be Portsmouth Mathnasiums success, it teaches the whole child, i.e. stories associating with the child's life. Its all Math isn't it!
My student has only been there for 3 weeks. Her teacher says they have not really done any hard work in math in school yet, so they are not sure this extra help is beneficial yet. She will keep us informed. Name removed re: Madyson Rodrigues

My Daughter Elia LOVES going to Mathnasium. She feels very comfortable with all of the tutors and enjoys the learning, she finds it "fun" - what more could I ask for!
Elia is challanged and is learning at Mathnasium. The communication between staff and parents is wonderful and the office is inviting and clean! I wish I could take this office back to Boston with us...We will be a Portsmouth customer possibly over school vacation weeks (if you offer special classes during these weeks) as well as each summer when we live in RI. It's an outstanding program! I'm beyond impressed! Doug and the other teachers there work amazingly well with my nine year old son. His math skills AND confidence have noticeably improved in just a month's time. I have been raving about the program to anyone who

Hi Doug-I feel that it is achieving what i had hoped for Beth. She has no problem going. She continues to struggle with Math and is easily frustrated by it but we have only had a few sessions. She's getting there! Thanks
My daughter was having a lot of trouble understanding her math lessons. After just a few sessions at Mathnasium, she went from hating math to enjoying it. Her confidence has improved 100%. She enjoys math so much now she actually looks forward to her math lessons instead of dreading them.
Mathnasium utilizes a holistic approach when teaching math concepts. The team provides a positive environment which is conducive to learning. Our son has confidence in himself again and actually likes Math! We were fortunate to have found this great team! Extended appreciation and acknowledgment to Doug who helped us not give up! We LOVE Mathnasium of Portsmouth! Doug and his staff have been so amazing working with our son. We started him in the program in June and he was at a mid 4th grade level. He has made wonderful progress in two months and is loving math now. He looks forward to his sessions because Mathnasium makes it fun and helps build our son's confidence in his learning!
