Cynthia at the Highland ParK Mathnasium is great with the kids and the parents. My son is really struggling as a senior in high school and she was gentle in telling me that he may not have accumulated the skills through the years to do the level of math he is currently taking. She was so concerned about Luke that she told me she didn't feel right taking my money! How's that for honesty and integrity!! However, she is working with me and my son to develop some helpful resources that may get him through this year and then we plan on continuing through the summer to go back and revisit some of the skills he either missed or forgot. She is very encouraging and really seems to know her stuff.
I think Mathnasium is a comfortable place to learn.
My boys love coming to Mathnasium in Highland Park. Imagine- math is fun. I get only enthusiastic responses when I tell them it's time to go. Shocking but true. This place is a gem. The instructors and owner are excellent- very patient and good natured with the kids. I have a son who is struggling with math (2nd grade) and is already seeing some improvement in his grades with their help, and his IEP.
Where just started taking our daughters to Mathnasium and so far they really enjoy going. We will have to see if there scores at school improve.

After starting with Mathnasium, she is now obsessed with Math. She just loves going there and wants to be there every day. She's learning and working hard and I credit the wonderful staff at Mathnasium with helping not only fuel her interest, but doing so well at Math at school. My daughter loves coming and I like the fact she can provide feed at her own pace, above what she is learning at school where they have cut gifted math programming.

My child no longer hates math. After her first session, she asked "when can I go back?". She said that things are explained Ina way that make it easy for her to understand math. She especially enjoys working with Merrick.
