My son was struggling mightily with Algebra I, to the tune of a D, with an F grade clearly in sight. Carson need more one-on-one specialized time to help him figure out where the gap was and why he wasnāt grasping the material, more so than the extra help that was available to him at school.
I knew that a few sessions at Mathnasium would probable help, since they would be able to spend the time needed to get him over the hump, and to grasp the concept of the material he was stuck on. However, I didnāt want the āband aideā fix, I needed to see a long-term fix so I opted for the longer-term tutorial session for 4 months.
My son went from a failing student to a solid āBā student and he has been able to hold that level of grade with confidence through Algebra I & now Algebra II.
Mathnasium put together a customized program specifically for my son.
Forget the costs, this was my sonās future; If I had known the outcome was going to have such a positive impact on his grades I would have signed him up so much earlier.

My son was hesitant to get extra help because he felt it meant he wasn't "smart." He came home from his first session pleasantly surprised at how much he enjoyed it. He still enjoys his time at Mathnasium.
Times are convenient and flexible. My son's grade went from a low D to a low B in only a few sessions.
