My daughter has gained a lot of confidence during our time at Mathnasium. When we started in January she said that math was one of her least favorite subjects and now after 5 months she said math is her favorite subject.

When we started my daughter, Kaitlyn, at Mathnasium 5 months ago math was a major cause of nervousness and uncertainty with zero confidence in herself when it came to even the simplest math concepts. When we had our initial conversation with Carl I knew immediately that he understood where he could be of assistance to her. He also had a way of encouraging her from the very beginning, telling her that 5th grade math is troublesome for a lot students, not just her. We saw more confidence in her math abilities after the first week! She has steadily improved in all areas, even those dreaded fractions. All year she has worried about the math portion of the STAAR test but the worry seemed to shrink as she learned more and more. On our way to school on the day of the STAAR test I asked her how she was feeling. She said she wasn't nervous or scared and she seemed confident and ready. That alone was a win in my mind. But we weren't prepared for what came next. Her math teacher, who knew of her struggles and knew she was attending Mathnasium, sent my wife an email one morning that simply said, "Kaitlyn has some exciting news to tell you tonight. I'll let her tell you but I was so happy for her I had to let you know myself." So naturally we thought, "great, she passed the STAAR math test!" What a relief. And she did pass...and received an ADVANCED SCORE! WHAT!? I was so happy and proud of her I almost cried. This wasn't a win because of the test score alone. It was a win because she gained confidence in herself and realized she CAN do things that are hard. It's more than learning math for these kids, it's confidence building and we are SO thankful we made the decision to trust Carl and his team. Thank you!

We started our daughter at Mathnasium in hopes it would help her pass the STARR test. She ended up not only passing, but she was labeled as Advanced! Mathnasium has been great for her confidence too!

My daughter, who swears she "hates math" has improved 22% of a grade level in math since we started going to Mathnasium a month ago and she now asks when we are going next as we're leaving the building. I'm so impressed and pleased with her progress! My son also goes and I just overheard him say, "fractions are my favorite thing ever!" The staff are just amazing. They are always so positive and upbeat, making the kids catch their enthusiasm. The owner is very involved in the process and personally takes an interest in each child. And he definitely knows how to hire the right people! The young lady at the front desk, I guess she's a kind of manager, Sara, is incredible. She has a master's degree, which is impressive by itself, but it's how personable she is that makes parents excited to come inside. She remembers details about the kids and their families and asks very thoughtful questions to preserve and enhance the relationship between the business and their customers. How she manages to keep that level of enthusiasm throughout her shift while still being approachable and genuine, I have no idea. I know I'm going on and on. Sorry, I just really love this place!

Carl and his instructors do it right. Our boys have grown tremendously in their math skills this schol year as a result. On our oldest son's entrance exam for high school, his highest grade was in math.
