My son really love math, he is also self-contained gifted and wants to know more about math then he can get from school. We are likely a little different then many that go to Mathnasium as my son goes to advance his level of math learning vs. going b/c he is struggling with math.
I know a lot of families that use kumon but it's my understanding they give out homework assignments. I'm not paying to do more homework at home, that's what I pay a tutor for. I want my child to do the work in their presence so when she needs help she gets the right help, not me guessing!

My daughter loves going. The award system really works with my daughter, I've never seen her that motivated in math just to receive something so small like a tootsie roll. I appreciate how much the staff encourages her and tells her how smart she is. My daughter needs this positive atmosphere.
