My daughter is doing very well in Math.
Great
Positives:
When looking through my kids' notebooks, I see that they're practicing a variety of math problems and making progress by completing assignments. My children do not complain (too much) about going to Mathnasium. They see some of their friends inside and teenagers, which helps to motivate them. When they do not understand a problem, they can get assistance from one of the instructors. It's also very convenient and close to home.
Negatives:
My children's math grades and MAP Math test scores have not improved, although I'll continue to monitor. They're getting a lot of candy from Mathnasium (large portions of skittles and starbursts), but they have several cavities and want to eat their candy before having dinner. It ends up frustrating them and frustrating me, when I tell them - no more candy. Maybe the points they earn can buy them healthy alternatives? Or smaller portions of candy? Just one piece of candy, and my kids would be happy - they don't need a bag of it. Sometimes, I also feel that they don't work for the entire hour because they're usually already finished and waiting on me, when I arrive to pick them up. Under old management, they used to leave a few minutes later - so it felt like they got their full hour's worth and money's worth.
Jennifer and Kathy have been incredibly flexible and open. They have been very helpful and thorough as well.
Both of my girls (ages 8 and 10) attended Mathnasium over the summer, and one of them attended during the school year. They both LOVED it. It really says something when your kids look forward to going to math lessons. They both described the instructors as really kind and I enjoyed seeing the confidence they gained from attending.
My son enjoys attending sessions and never complains! Seems to be making progress with a number of concepts, as well!
A very structured approach to teaching Math. We just enrolled our daughter and she loves it, looks forward to her class and is all excited to tell us all about what she learnt when she comes back home.
Like the exclusive time with teachers & the fact they don’t have any homework. All work is completed in class. The option to make up classes is great as well. Tan & his team communicates class changes via email which I appreciate very much.

My son is doing so good at mathnasium. He loves how patient the staff is and everything is private so there's no embarrassment when asking for help. Very professional and wonderful friendly atmosphere.
My son and daughter, rising seventh and ninth graders in 2021, Have had a very positive experience specially after a very slow school year due to the pandemic. They feel they have more than caught up with their math by going here and are ready for their upcoming school year. The owner is very accommodating when it comes to session times considering our sometimes hectic summer schedule. I definitely feel this place is a great choice for our kids with a very convenient location.

My son doesn't always want to attend, but I make him and his math skills have improved dramatically. Well worth it and the staff is excellent.
They found out what is the my son's problem and what is the best solution for him. It was very surprised how fast and accurately find out the point. My son who hates to get hlep before, now he loves and wants to continue on thier best tutoring.
Even now with the only option being the virtual tutoring my son is gaining a lot and still likes the program. He's 9 years old and says Mathnasium "goes by so fast" and that says a lot!

We really feel like Mathnasium is the perfect solution for all three of our boys. We have two boys that excel at math and Mathnasium pushes them ahead while it also helps our one son that has missed some math concepts in school. We love the online option because we live 40 minutes away from the nearest Mathnasium center and Mathnasium @home makes life so much easier. Math is such a critical skill and we feel this is a great investment in their future. The Mathnasium instructors have been patient and really focus on the child understanding the concepts.
All the teachers are pretty nice. They are clearing up a lot of concepts and teach fast ways to solve problems.

My kids are mastering topics and enjoying it too. I think it’s great that Mathnasium rotates tutors as it affords my kids an opportunity to learn strategies from different tutors.
Mathnasium@Home seems to work very well with my kids and especially myself because I can save a lot of time without taking them to their class and waiting for them to finish.
We don't miss our class time any more due to my work schedule too.
My kids look very comfortable to sit their own space and to focus on their work.

At first my son, now a 9th grader at Bowie, was resistant to the idea of going to Mathnasium. Once he started going, though, after less than a month he said he "loved it" and wanted to continue going there all throughout high school. The staff is amazing and they know the kids by name. The assessments are spot on and are aligned with Bowie curriculum. Thanks to Tan and the team for everything!
