When school ended for my daughter abruptly due to the pandemic I was told my daughter is almost a year behind in her math. this came as a huge surprise and all I knew is I needed to get her caught up the best way I could. I looked into tons of tutor agencies as well as online agencies and I chose mathnasium. I was very skeptical at first because they do a lot of online virtual learning. But their virtual learning platform allows My daughter to work directly for the entire time with a teacher. My daughter also was very afraid and had a lot of anxiety about performance. After doing a simple assessment online. They easter into mathnasium learning. My daughter who was one that would like to use avoidance is now been able to work with them for over 4 months daily per whatever I request as the time. They also have been very open to me having to change the time due to us going out of town. We still have a lot of catching up to do. but I know that magnesium is giving her a solid foundation and she is learning and she is feeling good about herself for the first time regarding her math.

I refer the program all the time. We will be signing up in the fall. My kids think that 1 hour on line instruction is too long. They get tired. It would be nice to have a 30-40 minute option for younger kids.

Great and wonderful experience. My son was motivated to go to his virtual class. He was very comfortable with his teachers. He said that the learning style and method helped him. He felt that he learned a lot. I’m impressed by this program. My son has struggled with math since the beginning. He dreaded math class. When he started Mathnasium, he independently logged in and was excited to learn. He never complained and looked forward to learning. I really wish that I signed him up earlier. It is really work it. Very welcoming location, caring at every level and staffed with tutors who can connect with children across all age groups. There was never a feeling of burden, I could always ask a question via email or in person and got a prompt response from Melissa and her staff. On line tutoring was quickly implemented and allowed for continued learning experience even if it took a while to adjust to new technology. Bottom line, this team cares and it shows, so THANK YOU!
I was just talking about Mathnasium to a friend! My daughter is starting to believe in herself and feel stronger about her math aptitude. She looks forward to her classes and I'm sleeping better at night knowing that she's going to catch up with her class. I don't think there was any other type of math program out there that could have gotten my daughter caught up as thoroughly as Mathnasium!

Mathnasium of Point Loma has been a wonderful supplement for learning for both our daughters, ages 9 and 12. They have been so thorough with communication, outreach, and have taken extra steps to encourage learning during these quarantine times. There is effort to personally connect with each family and make each child feel special. With changing online school schedules, they’ve also been extremely flexible when we’ve needed to make adjustments. We’ve felt very fortunate to have mathnasium to help us get through these home school times.
