My daughter was having increasing difficulty with math since the 5th grade (she's in 8th now), despite trying with 3 private tutors (all licensed math teachers) and tutoring by teachers in her school during lunch, including a special education math teacher, my daughter's marks in math continued to spiral downward. At the beginning of the school year, she failed 3 out of 3 quizzes when I heard about Mathnasium from a Dyslexia Association tutor I was considering (I started to think she had dyscalculia), so we tried Mathnasium for a month and she came home saying she felt like she was getting it. The next 2 quizzes were 72 and 82, from 38 and 56 and failing her first marking period with a 55. She used to tell me, "I can't math!" Now she says she understands the material. The best part is that I see the relief in her instead of dread. I wish I had known about Mathnasium 3 years ago, I would have saved money and heartache.
My daughter really enjoys attending Mathnasium tutors. She does not want to leave, she is eleven years old and she values everyone's support from day one. Everyone has given her the appropriate attention needed to be successful in her school environment. She has been scoring on her test over 95% which is considered A+. I would highly recommend Mathnasium to any parent teacher and child.
My three children have only been going to Mathnasium for one month and I am quite pleased so far. They like the instructors and are very comfortable with the learning process that Mathnasium provides. More importantly they do not give me a hard time about going there and that is a very good thing! I would love to take the feedback survey again in six months so that I can comment on what will hopefully be a successful progression of their math skills.
I am overwhelmingly satisfied with the results of Mathnasium. My son who is 14 years old, loves it. He says they have taught him better than his teachers.
