I believe that math is hard enough as it is. In today's education a lot of times you find classes where it's a " hurry up" pace to meet curriculum. Students tend to get lost quickly and it's very hard to recover. At mathnasium,it's all about math and the individual! Learning and understanding is key! It's about building confidence. I've seen in the short time that my daughter has been in mathnasium, a change. She might come out of school confused but will go to her mathnasium apt.and leave with a clearity and undstanding! My son Jacob, went from a D in math to a B- for the 1st quarter grade in high school algebra.... in just one month. After his first tutor session, I thought he would get in the car down and exhausted from an hour of math. It was the opposite. He was full of energy and said "I get it! I really get it." It was like a the sky opened and his stress level decreased within weeks.

Blake tends to say he understands things when asked, but often doesn't. He has not been able to apply what he learns into improved grades. After he is taught something, please test him on the information to see if he actually understands it and can apply it on tests in school, (and go over the tests). Thanks!!!

Mathnasium is very effective in fostering growth and learning in a fun environment. My son has enjoyed going to Mathnasium since he first joined. As a parent, it is exciting to see your child filled with such enthusiasm to go to a place where he can benefit from constructive feedback. A great supplement to the academic rigors of school!
They work well with coordinating with school math teachers to ensure they give your child help in the areas that they need it.
Both of our kids attend Mathnasium Milford. The actually ENJOY coming! The staff work hard to engage the kids, then do a great job in helping them understand what they are doing. The structure and setting is a good fir for my daughter. She needed a fun and safe environment to ask questions. At her school, class size is too big.
